New in at Everlane: Fall Picks I’m Loving

Happy Monday Friends! I’ve got an Everlane Fall picks post for you guys…

it’s been awhile since I last posted one of these! It’s not necessarily been on purpose, I’ve just had a lot of other content to get through and wasn’t able to take the time to sit down and do a big review post.

But today is the day! I know you guys love when I do these posts, so I’m not tabling them I promise!

As always with these Everlane fall picks posts, since there’s a few things to review I’ll keep my reviews to mini reviews. And this time around I have a few pieces that aren’t so new, but I haven’t styled them in a formal review post yet so I’m featuring them here today.

I’ll explain as we move along.

And since this is a review post, here is my sizing information:

Bust: 34″
Hips: 32″
Waist: 26.5″
Height: 5’5″

Okay! Let’s get to the reviews:

Review 1:

Oversized Alpaca Crew in Dark Copper/Almond, Size Large

Retails for $95, comes in sizes XXS-XL, and 14 colors

I REALLY love these alpaca crew sweaters. I currently own two different colors (you can see the other color here), and they are one of my favorite sweaters to wear. They are made of an alpaca mix, and feel so soft, lightweight, and they just float down your body. I am sensitive to wool (though I’m learning my sensitivity seems to be more centered on lower quality wool sweaters), and I have very minimal itching with these sweaters. With that said, I wouldn’t be comfortable wearing it without a t-shirt underneath all day, but with the tee it’s just fine.

These sweaters are described as being oversized, but I find that I prefer to size up a few sizes because I like how they look very oversized. And honestly, in my true size small they would probably look more like a typical crew. One things that’s nice about the lightweight feel of the sweater is that even with the extra fabric from sizing up, they are very easy to tuck in still.

I love the little details on these sweaters (which I think is what makes them so special), like the thick rolled collar, the vertical knit, and the slight balloon sleeve with the longer cuff. It sets this sweater apart in my opinion.

I highly recommend these sweaters. I really, really love them and think you will too.

Review 2:

The Modern Utility Lace up Boot in Black, Size 9

Retails for $185, comes in sizes 5-11, and 3 different colors

I love this new style of boot that Everlane just released, I have another pair of black lace up boots from Madewell, so I worried these would be a bit redundant in my closet, but actually I find that they really aren’t because of the minimal construction on these.

I like that they are all black (upper and bottom). It makes them look just a bit more dressed up, but they also look great casually like I styled them here so they are very versatile. They also have a very minimal shoe lace and sole, which I really love. They kind of play to the chunky boot trend that’s happening right now, but they are not so chunky that you’ll feel weird wearing them when we’ve moved on from that trend. In other words, they are a very timeless style and I imagine I’ll be reaching for them for many years to come.

As far as construction, they are very well made (I love all of Everlane’s boots to be honest) with a sturdy sole, and comfortable fit. They are made of the same type of smooth leather as their market tote, but it’s a bit thicker. You’ll definitely want to treat it right away though because that kind of smooth leather is more susceptible to wear.

The website says they have a narrow fit, but I don’t think they’re more narrow than any other average pair of boots. With that said, you may have to size up if you have wider feet. I took my normal size 9, and am wearing a thick pair of wool socks underneath, and they are very comfortable. They are also really comfortable right out of the gate, and easy to get in and out of because of the zipper.

I really love these! Both of these items were a big win for me.

The Texture Cotton Cardigan in Plum Grey, Size Small

Retails for $98, comes in sizes XXS-XL, and 4 colorways

SO. this is my third iteration of their cropped cardigan. Basically every time they’ve released a new version of it (does this mean I need to expand my tastes a little? Maybe.). I had previously given the other two cardigans to some of my family members because, as it turns out, I don’t love the way Everlane’s cotton cream color looks against my skin tone, and I had gone for the cream color in both previous versions.

Turns out it was serendipitous though because this version is so much better than the previous versions! First, the plum grey color I chose is so pretty and unique. It is very grey in color, but as the name suggests it has a slight purply undertone to it. I couldn’t love it more. Second, the material on this feels a lot nicer and softer (I never disliked the previous fabric, but I realize now what the previous versions could have been). It still has the weight of a cotton cardigan, but it just feels less chunky and more soft and cozy. I think it lays a bit better as well, and I like that there’s a bit more of a boxy fit than on the previous versions.

And EXTRA bonus, I love the tortoiseshell buttons. What a great touch!

I got it in a small because I knew previous version ran big, but I still wanted it to fit a little slouchy. A small is perfect so I would say go for the bigger of your two sizes if you want it to fit like how I’m wearing it.

Here’s the bottom line: If you have the older versions you don’t need this new version. BUT if you don’t have it, or you wanted to try it in a new colorway then I definitely recommend.

Review 2:

The Parklet Shirtdress in Hazel, Size 2

Retails for $98, comes in sizes 00-16, and 2 colorways

I really like this dress! I was unsure about this color, because I’ve learned with very warm orangy, yellow tones I can look kind of sallow, but this seems to be the right mix of that golden beige color without it being too orange or yellow.

To be honest, this is a very basic shirtdress, but with a few twists that make it stand out:

It has a dropped waist, which I was a bit worried would look funny with my short torso, but I think it looks fine because of the boxiness of the silhouette. It’s not cut in at all in the waist so even though there’s a waist seam, it still has a very straight fit through the hips. The skirt does taper out at the bottom a little bit so there’s lots of room around the hips and thighs.

It’s made of a really lightweight cotton, but FYI it does wrinkle easily if that’s a deal breaker for you.

It’s also nursing friendly with the buttons!

This runs pretty big. I got it in my smaller size 2, and it fits exactly how I want it too.

Review 3:

I have a small, but to the point review of the forever sneakers here so I will direct you there rather than repeating myself.

I have an in depth review of the leggings here, but I did want to mention that I had heard the colored leggings were more see through than the black, but I don’t find that to be true with this color. They were just as opaque as the black.

Review 4:

I’m going to keep this review brief because this jacket is mostly sold out (it is still available in some sizes though so if you’re interested definitely check to see if your size is still there!). But just in case they do a restock in the future, here are my thoughts:

When I first pulled this out of the packaging I wasn’t sure if I loved it. To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of the ReNew fleece because it has a bit of a rougher feel to it, and it’s not silkily soft like I’m used to in other fleeces. So I thought for sure I would be sending it back… until I tried it on.

It doesn’t feel like that on the inside. It’s still not a silky soft feeling, but it IS really soft and cozy. I also kind of love that the fleece is more structured and thinner than other fleeces I have because it does give this zip up more of the feeling of an actual jacket than a bomber sweatshirt.

I knew I wanted this with a little extra room so I sized up to a medium, and the fit is perfect for what I wanted. If you want something a bit more form fitting, just go with your regular size.

This will be a very sad little section of this post because I have already reviewed everything in this outfit. I hadn’t shared this wash of 90’s cheeky denim which is why I included this outfit in the post, but I have reviewed the 90’s cheeky in another wash, and as there are no differences I will direct you to…

my Everlane denim guide here.

I will also refer you to the same post as above because I’ve already touched on the tee and flats there.

There’s actually a lot that’s new in at Everlane right now that I’m loving so I’ll link to a few other pieces that caught my eye, but that I didn’t end up going for:

As always, I hope you enjoy these review posts! As one reader recently put it, “I’m so happy to have found someone who can try on all the clothes for me!” ? I am honored to do that hard work for you guys. ?

I bought the white chelsea boot from Everlane and they are perfect. I think that these new boots have been pre-treated and weatherized. I wore mine in rain today with no issues at all.

I saw your post, and wondered if that’s the pair you chose! I was SO tempted by that exact pair, but alas I think I will get more wear out of the lace up boots.

Is the lace up boot heavy? I love the look but worried the chunky sole means a heavier boot.

It’s actually not any heavier than my other booties! The leather is lightweight, which makes up for any added weight from the sole.

I noticed that the new boots from Everlane are less expensive than most/all of their previous leather ones, so I looked at the website and found that the new ones are made in Vietnam, and no factory is listed, unlike with their old ones that were made in Italy (and you could get a virtual look at the place they’re made). I was bummed because I always loved buying their shoes made in Italy. Do you notice any difference in quality of construction between these new ones and their leather boots from previous seasons?

The only real difference as far as I can tell is the type of leather used. It feels more similar to the leather used in their market tote, or the leather in the wild west boot or the square toe chelsea boots. But the construction feels just as nice as their other boots!
