Lululemon Align Legging Review + the Best Cozy Fleeces

Happy humpday friends! I hope you are as excited as I am to be here right now because we’re going to be talking about my new favorite: the Lululemon Align legging and my favorite fleece jackets to pair with them!

I’ll be honest. I’ve never been much of a legging person. They’ve just never been something I’ve reached for…

mostly because they just never felt dressed up enough for me.

AND then Covid hit, and with all of the staying at home, I found myself relying more and more on my leggings.

To the point where I decided to finally try the Lululemon Align legging that I’ve always heard so much about.

And, well, they kind of live up to the hype.

SO. Because they are pretty expensive, I thought it would be helpful to give you my thoughts so you can make a more informed decision on whether or not YOU think they’re worth it.

But I thought it would also be fun to show you a few fleece jackets that I really love pairing with the leggings for ultimate cozy comfort.

Okay. Without further ado, let’s take a better look at the Lululemon Align legging:

First of all, my sizing info:

Waist: 26.5″ | Hips: 32″ | Height: 5’5″ | Typically a S/4 in pants

Second, the style I got was the 25″ in the color black. They retail for $98.

So first, things first I want to mention that the sizing chart seems to be a bit off on their website. I had to return my first order because I took a 6 like they suggested, and they were too big. After sizing to my true size (4), they fit perfectly.

With that in mind, I’d say take your true size, and if you are in between sizes go with the smaller size because they are very stretchy.

The first thing that stands out to me about these leggings is that they are the perfect in between fabric weight. I have leggings that are very thin, and I have leggings that are very sturdy and thick but these are the perfect medium weight.

Second, they are so incredibly soft and stretchy, but they are still very supportive. I can’t even really describe the material… you kind of have to feel it yourself, but it is just so soft.

They don’t slip down at all, and they also don’t squeeze or pinch at the top of the very high waist.

I honestly could not recommend these enough. They are (in my opinion of course!) the perfect legging for both working out and lounging.

I really think you will like them so if it’s within your budget I’d say go for it! I don’t think you’ll regret it.

Okay. Now that we have the review out of the way, let’s look at the outfits/fleece jackets I love to pair with them:

Fleece is now old so I linked a more updated version

This fleece is so incredibly soft and cozy. It’s the perfect pullover for school drop offs, and grocery store runs. I took it in my true size small. It also comes in a bunch of other really great colors/prints!

This jacket is definitely more a true jacket in that it’s a bit more structured, and you’ll want to wear something underneath it (a hoodie is the perfect combo IMO). But it’s just such a nice fleece jacket for running errands, running to an from the gym, etc. It is quite big, so size down. I’m wearing a small here, but I for sure could have gone for an XS.

This version of this fleece is now no longer being made so I linked similar

I’ve had this fleece for almost as long as I’ve been married, so I can attest to the quality and durability of this fleece. I love this fleece for outdoor activities, and for going on cold weather runs, but it’s also super cute as an athleisure look. It runs true to size, but if you want to fit bulky sweaters underneath I’d size up.

Well that’s all I’ve got for you guys today! Are you like me in that you’ve changed your mindset on dressing since Covid hit? Let me know in the comments below! If you have, I hope you found this post helpful!

Until next time,

If you want a legging at a lower price point, I have a review of the Everlane perform legging here.

Just a heads up Align leggings often pill over time despite following washing instructions. Lulu knows this and will provide refunds if they don’t hold up but they aren’t durable. The feel amazing though.

I have a few friends that have been buying align leggings for years, and they didn’t mention that when I asked if they recommended them! Maybe it varies by pair. I’ll definitely circle back and update this if I find that to be the case.

I’m looking for a pair of black leggings and went to Lululemon to order these but the reviews were not great because of the the pilling issue. I’m curious, did yours stand the test of time? Thanks!

Hi Lesley! Yes, mine have held up great and I have worn them to death. They have pilled a tiny bit in the inner thigh area (no more than my other leggings), but I just take a sweater stone and lightly remove the pilling. I hope that helps!
