Cold, Colder, Coldest: Wide Leg Pants Edition

And just like that it’s Wednesday! This week has flown by so far, and it’s about to get a lot more interesting around here because our oven stopped working and we have to get a new one… which means that we won’t have a working oven for a good long while. ? I will be heavily relying on my crockpot for the foreseeable future, but if you have any good tips for cooking dinner without an oven or stove please do let me know in the comments! Help a girl out!

But I digress.

After I shared my last post on styling wide leg pants, I had a few of you ask how I’d style them with boots for days when you need that extra warmth.

It can be a bit tricky to get the proportions right, but I do have a few tips I’ve picked up that can make styling a bit easier:

1. Either wear a long coat or a shorter coat, but try to avoid knee length coats as they tend to “chop” the outfit in half.
2. Choose boots that have a longer, skinnier ankle shaft so you don’t see any ankle. This is one jean/boot combo where you don’t want to see a bit of ankle peeking out.
3. For that same reason, I’d avoid anything too cropped.
4. Finally, add a pair of thermals underneath if you really need that extra warmth, and make sure to add some wool socks underneath your boots!
