Everlane Classics for Chilly Fall Days

This post is sponsored by Everlane, thank you Everlane for supporting this community and thank YOU for reading my blog, it’s your support that allows for these sorts of opportunities and I really appreciate you guys!

Hello my friends! It’s been a bit since I checked in here, but we’ve been having a very busy fall so far and it’s been hard to balance everything to be honest. Who knew, but four kids keep you busy ha! Between the typical apple orchards and pumpkin patches, volunteering at their schools, planning birthday parties, gymnastics and karate lessons, and the not as typical phone calls with the school social worker and social worker interns, trekking to the upteenth med checks, specialty appointments, OT, and therapy appointment it feels like every ounce of my days are being used up. And in the last month I’ve picked up an old passion of mine… art. Gabe had a Lord of the Rings themed birthday party (he is obsessed with all things LOTR and as I’ve been a fellow Tolkien nerd since high school I could not be happier) and he asked me to paint him the scene where Gandalf stands off with the Balrog… which meant I had to drag all of my art supplies out of storage. I haven’t touched my art supplies since before I started my Master’s because I graduated then got pregnant with Kit and, well, it’s been a bit of a whirlwind since then. But pulling everything out and creating Gabe’s piece ignited a renewed excitement inside of me to create art again so in my spare moments lately that’s what I’ve been doing.

Anyway. I feel like I have a lot to catch up with you guys on, but we’re here today to talk about some new pieces from Everlane and I’m very excited to share them with you! I mentioned last month that the fall collection from Everlane is giving me the best vintage 90’s vibes, and I think today’s pieces are that and also giving classic Everlane vibes. I did a fall lookbook years ago (which, fun fact, was my first viral Pinterest post) and it was very Everlane heavy (I have been an Everlane girly for many, many years as you long time readers well know). Today’s pieces that I have to show you really remind me of a lot of the pieces in that look book circa… 2018 I think? Okay I have three outfits to show you, so I’ll stop with my chatting and get into the outfits:

Outfit Details:

Sizing notes: I sized up in the vest and top and stayed true to size in the jeans and sneakers.

This is my favorite outfit of the three which is why I’m starting with this one. It’s just so very me and I love every element of it on its own, but the combination is just like the cherry on top. You all know how much I love a button down so when I saw this green striped version I was definitely channeling the heart eye emoji ha! I have the classic blue and white version and the crisp blue button down, but there’s something about the green and white that takes a classic and gives it a breath of fresh air. This vest too, is just such a fun addition for fall. I love the oversized fit – it’s like being wrapped in a big blanket anytime you wear it, and again that green color is just pleasing me right now ha! And I am over the moon about their new mid jeans… they are my ideal jean and you’ll see in a bit here that I got them in two washes. I won’t say a ton about them here because I reviewed them for you guys yesterday in my Everlane Denim guide so if you have any questions just hop on over there for a thorough review. And finally, these sneakers are so good! I feel like they may be an unsung Everlane hero! They’re super lightweight and comfortable and the material has the most beautiful texture to them which gives your outfit just an extra bit of interest without them competing in any way. These are definitely going to be a staple for me this fall, and I’m so glad I have them in my rotation now!

Sizing Notes: I went up a size to a medium in my two tops and my jacket, and I’m wearing my true 26 in the jeans.

Okay so this outfit feels the most “classic” Everlane to me. The tops especially are just so reminiscent of what they were selling and what was all over the ethical fashion hashtag feeds on Instagram circa 2018… and I love it. I love a good barn jacket and I’m into the fact that they are back on tend this year in a major way. This one in particular has that classic thick cotton material and it feels really substantial… like you could head out and do some chores in the barn ha! The bonus being that it’s really warm, but it is still breathable and easy to move in. I love it layered over this soft flannel button down… another trend this year and a cozy thermal. It’s like the trifecta of fall coziness and I’m not sad about it. I love the feel of Everlane’s flannel and their thermals. They do both really well and the cut of both of these are both giving that classic 90’s vibe I mentioned above which I am all about right now). I thought it would be fun to mix things up though by adding their 70’s Jean to a clearly 90’s inspired top half of an outfit and I love the way it all came together. The 70’s Jean gives just a bit of an edge to the outfit with the flared leg and the front pockets give a little texture and balance. These jeans are really fun, and I think they’d be really fun to pair with a pheasant blouse and espadrilles in the spring as well as a pair of chunky boots and an oversized sweater when it gets really cold. They just give a bit of something extra. As with the other jeans I did an in depth review of them as well in my Everlane Denim Guide.

Sizing notes: I sized up in the jacket and sweater (but I’d advise staying true to size in both), sized up in the flats, and stayed true to size in the jeans

And finally my last outfit. This one definitely has a classic vibe to it that I love. If you’ve happened to see the old movie 9th Avenue Irregulars, for some reason this outfit reminds me of something that the ladies in that movie would’ve worn which I happen to think is a good thing ha! There’s something about an oversized classic trench like this one with the dark jeans that gives a 70s vibe which I love, but pairing the oversized cream sweater does bring it back a little bit into this decade. This sweater by the way is so good. It’s so soft and I love the rib detail on it with the pockets in the front. I did size up for this fit, but it does run very oversized… which is great if you want to wear it with leggings, but if you’re wearing it more with jeans, you might want to size down. The coat too runs very oversized so I definitely go with your true size or even size down but I think this is a great alternative if you don’t love a classic trench, but want something that does the same job as a trench coat… the bonus being this one definitely does not wrinkle like a trench coat does. And finally, I had to go for these day gloves in this beautiful wine color. I’m all about suede this fall and this beautiful saturated color adds such a punch to any outfit, plus it’s just something a little different than the red we’ve seen so much of the last year or two.

Well that’s all I’ve got for you guys today! I hope you enjoyed a little peek into what’s new at Everlane! Let me know which ones were your favorite pieces and if you’re also feeling the vintage vibes this fall! Have a great weekend everyone!

Until next time,

Karin

Oh gosh! That movie is one of our family’s favorites. Nothing like church ladies getting things done!
