Happy Monday friends! Don’t hate me… but we put up our Christmas decorations over the weekend. Ha! With four young kids at home, it’s just fun to be festive for as long as possible. The only problem? That’s a few extra weeks of having to keep Gabe away from the Christmas ornaments… the kid has no (perceived) limits and chooses not to listen to the word “no.” Fun Holiday times right? Speaking of Holiday times… last week I shared my first Holiday outfit post, which was a much more dressed up option than what I’m going to share with you today. Today is more along the lines of something I’ll wear for the in between… you know what I mean? The perfect casual Holiday outfit for visits to Santa, the cookie decorating gathering, etc. I like to have a couple of cozy, less obvious outfits in my wheelhouse this time of year that are cute and easy to throw on for any last minute gatherings. And that’s what this is.

I really love this cardigan… like really love it. I’m just not a blazer person… I go through phases where I think I am, but with the phase of life I’m in, I can’t do a structured arm/shoulder area. But this cardigan is the perfect alternative option to a blazer. The double breasted buttons give it that extra bit of oomph that makes this a much more polished option than a typical slouchy cardigan. The balloon sleeves keep it from looking too 80’s vintage and the tortoiseshell buttons lend such a great contrast to the overall look. It’s made of the same felted merino as my favorite half zip sweater – I can’t get over how soft these sweaters are… and I’ve had minimal issues with pilling (just the normal amount of maintenance with my sweater stone). I was tempted to size up to a medium in the cardigan, but I decided to stick with the larger of my two shirt sizes (small) to retain some of the intended structure of the cardigan and I’m glad I did. It’s still slouchy, but in a structured way (does that make sense? Ha!)
The jeans I’ve had for a few years now and you all know how much of a cold weather staple they are! I reviewed them in depth in my Everlane denim guide which you can find here >>
The sock boots are some of my absolute favorite boots! I had them in the warm cognac color last year, but this year I traded those in for a pair of the black and I’m so glad I did! I love how sleek the all black boot is, but unlike other dressier boot styles these are so comfortable and easy to wear! The sock boot upper with the ribbed ReKnit fabric makes them mold to your feet without no rubbing or break in time at all. Plus the stacked heel is super easy to walk in! I stay true to size in these and I can still wear thick wool socks underneath.
This bag has been a favorite of mine since last year and it still continues to perform well. It fits everything I need in it, is super light weight, and it’s easy to carry. I like that it’s structured so it easily keeps it’s shape, and the leather is easy to wipe clean because of how smooth it is. It also has great style details like the pleated pocket at the front (perfect for slipping things into on the go), and the zippered pocket inside. The perfect, easy tote bag!
Everlane also some really great cold weather accessories right now! Perfect for stocking stuffers or just general gift giving merriment. 😉 The scarf I’m wearing would be a great option for pretty much anyone! It’s really soft and warm, and I love the waffle knit makes it more unique than your average scarf. I also have their slippers and they are the best slippers! They’re made of cozy sherpa and they hug your feet perfectly so they’re not flopping around when you walk. Again, the perfect gift for just about anyone!
Everlane Gift Edit:
Well that’s all I’ve got for you guys today! I hope you enjoyed this casual holiday outfit, and were hopefully inspired to style something similarly. What’s your go to Holiday outfit?
Until next time,
Karin
