Happy Friday friends! I hope everyone had a great week, and that you have a fun weekend to look forward to. 🙂 I’ll be taking the entire next week off, so this is my last post until the week of the 20th. I’m looking forward to taking the week off, but I’m also anticipating the feeling of being excited to get back to posting… it always happens!
But before I take some time off, I wanted to get this post up for you guys because I’ve had some questions on whether or not I would be posting a denim shorts guide this year. I’ve held off on posting it because I have yet to find a really affordable pair that I love, and per tradition I do like to find a pair at every price point… but I also want my recommendation to be good. So I think I’ll go ahead and post now, but when I do find a pair I love that hits that affordable price point, I’ll come back and add that pair in.
I have a couple of new pairs to share with you, but the other two pairs are repeats from last year which I think will be helpful for you to see… these are the pairs that have withstood the test of time. 🙂
Okay! Let’s get to it:
Outfit Details:
Button Down (4) | Denim Shorts (26) | Sandals (Old from Nisolo) | Sunglasses | Hat
Style: Everlane A-Line Denim Shorts
Size: 26
Price: $68
These have been one of my favorite pair of shorts ever since Everlane released them last summer. They are the best vintage inspired jean shorts I’ve ever found with the a-line fit and the perfect light blue wash. They are pretty rigid, but I do still find them to be very comfortable. These are my go to pair of shorts when I want something very classic and minimal. They run true to size, but I’d size up if you’re in doubt because they don’t stretch out at all.
Outfit Details:
Blouse (S) | Shorts (26) | Sandals (TTS) | Sunglasses | Bag
Style: AGOLDE Parker Long Short in Swapmeet
Size: 26
Price: $138
You’ll see two pairs of AGOLDE shorts in this post because they just do denim so well. I’ve owned the Dee shorts for several years now (see below), and everyone always talks about the Parkers so I had to give them a try… and I can see what the buzz is all about! They are a really comfortable pair of lightweight 100% cotton shorts. And they just fit so well. I also love having a bit more of a distressed pair of jean shorts in my rotation. They add just a bit of edge and texture to my more romantic tops. I also really like that these aren’t as high rise as my other shorts… they fall a bit more mid rise which is a nice change. I kept to my true size and they fit perfectly, but if you like the more relaxed fit, I’d size up.
Blouse (S) | Shorts (25. Sized Down) | Sandals (TTS. Get 10% off with code KARIN10) | Earrings
Style: Madewell Relaxed Mid Length Denim Shorts
Size: 25
Price: $78
So here’s a little tip: these are very similar to the AGOLDE Dee shorts (see below). The style is almost exact, but the main difference is the material. These are 100% cotton, but they feel much more thin and almost stretchy (even though they aren’t stretchy). I still like my Dee’s, but I will admit that these are more comfortable. They’re supposed to be a relaxed fit (these also have more of a mid rise), and they definitely would be if you sized up. I kept to my normal Madewell denim size (which is a size down), and I prefer this look personally.
Striped Tee (old from Madewell) | Denim Shorts (26) | Sandals (Review Here) | Necklace
Style: AGOLDE Dee Shorts
Size: 27
Price: $138
Aaaand I saved the best for last. These have been my favorite denim shorts for several years now. They are just magical my friends. In my opinion, they are the best of all worlds. They’re made of 100% cotton, and they are more of a midweight denim so they just hug your curves in the best way possible. Plus the 4 inch inseam is the perfect length. This wash is no longer available, but I found one that is really similar that is in stock in all sizes. These do have a higher rise, but I don’t find it overwhelming on my 5’5″ frame. I size up in Dee’s to a 27 for a bit more room.
Well that’s all I’ve got for you guys today! I hope you enjoyed this little roundup of my favorite jean shorts. I know I didn’t share as many styles as I have in past years, but I tried to really narrow it down this year to just my very best.
Have a great weekend!
Until next time,
Karin
do you remember what the wash on your Dee shorts is called if I try to look secondhand? thanks for the review of all of these.
The wash is Precision! I’m glad it was helpful!
