Not to be dramatic or anything, but I’m feeling really smug right now because I have officially survived 5 years of twins. Ha! Yes, that’s right, Ella and Rosie turned 5 years old yesterday. We celebrated very quietly as we’ve recently been directly exposed to Covid but it was a good celebration nonetheless.
This has been a milestone I’ve been looking forward to since day one of having them – a future date that would mean I’d made it. Now that we’ve hit it? I realize I never needed to arrive. I arrived the day they were born, and each day has been just a drop in the bucket of raising two very spirited and scrappy little girls. Oh yes, there were days when I wondered how I’d survive, and oh yes, there were moments when I questioned my ability to be what they needed… there have been tears, and pain, and wounds I’m still working through but they are my beautiful journey and they are my everything.
Twin mamas out there still in the thick of it: don’t give up! It’s hard, but you’ll see the sun through the clouds soon enough.
And with those musings completed, I have my very first outfit roundup of the New Year to share with you. We hunkered down these last few weeks due to extremely cold weather so I must issue the disclaimer that these are very practical, loungy types of outfits. But we honor the desire to be comfortable right?
