Happy Monday friends! I’m getting this posted a little later on Monday, but it’s getting up and that’s all that matters right?! Mom life was a little crazy today, but I had a couple of moments where I really nailed it as a mom today so I’m feeling pretty invincible (for the next 15 minutes until I totally blow it as a mom ha!).
One of the things I get the most wear out of this time of year is a basic tank top… and they are one thing that I don’t think I’ve ever dedicated an entire blog post to – until now! This type of subject matter is not exactly glamorous, but I find it tremendously helpful when people share their favorite basics so hopefully you find this helpful as well!
So. With that said, I rounded up my 6 favorite (currently available) tank tops for you guys, and I’ve got something for every price point!
K let’s get to the best basic tank tops:
This ribbed tank is incredibly soft (it has Tencel in it so it feels super silky) and it has such a nice cut to it. I love the stripes, but I also love how the arm holes are cut a bit larger than your typical tank. They still aren’t so big that you can’t wear a normal bras with it, but the more generous cut out makes the tank look a little less basic. I have it in a size small.
You can’t go wrong with a basic white tank! This one is slightly off white and has a really pretty faint ribbing to it. I also love the higher cut, but that the arms aren’t cut into a super dramatic racerback. It makes the tank very wearable and comfortable! I have this in a small.
This tank is such a good one and it’s less than $10! The fabric feels very well made and the neckline hits at that just the right spot. This one IS cut a little more like a traditional racer back, but it’s still not so extreme that you have to wear a strapless bras with it. I love it so much I got it in white as well! I wear a small in these.

This is the most expensive tank in this bunch, but it’s SO good! I love the racerback cut of the arms, but that the neckline is a good sized scoop. It’s a very flattering cut, and the material is so well made. It’s thick (but not hot), and just feels really luxe. I wear a small in this and the color is Tissue, which is more of a creamy white.
This style of tank is something I’ve had in my wardrobe for years! My white one finally wore out last year, and when I went to replace it I ended up getting this color instead (clay) because it was so unique! I size down (XS) in these tanks because they are lower cut. I find that sizing down keeps them from falling open when I bend over.
This is another very affordable tank that’s still made with excellent quality! This one has the thinnest straps of the bunch, but I can still get away with a normal bras! I really love the fit of this one and the color (light taupe) is so pretty! I have this in a small.
Well that’s all I’ve got for you guys! I hope you enjoyed this roundup of the best basic tank tops for summer! Which one’s your favorite? Let me know in the comments below!
Until next time,
Karin
love these! i struggle with bras that work with tanks — any suggestions to go with these?!
Hi yes! I like the skims bandeau bras and the Lively strapless bras. Both are great!
