It’s Friday! Which means relaxation and no packing lunches for a few days. Yay! Our week was much more chill and I am VERY happy about that. So here I am getting up a THIRD blog post this week! I can’t believe it either! But speaking of blog posts, I wanted to share a post about 3 blouses you need in your spring and summer capsule wardrobe.
Now these 3 blouses are great in ANY type of wardrobe, but I think that if I had to boil my wardrobe down I’d be happy with these 3 types of blouses. Does that make sense?
So let’s look at the blouses:
denim review here. sandal review here.
Even with the most basic wardrobe, you need to have a few pieces in your wardrobe that are fun! And a fun blouse is such a great way to mix things up + it’s a piece that packs a punch. You dress it down by wearing it with jean shorts, or dress it up with a pair of black pants or a slip skirt… you can even throw it over a dress or under a blazer. I particularly like a style like this little puff sleeved gingham blouse because it’s a statement, but its neutral enough that it goes with pretty much anything in my wardrobe. It also has the sweetest little buttons down the front, and a really fun vintage vibe. I got it in a small and it fits perfectly.

#2: A linen blouse
Jeans were gifted. Review here
EVERY spring and summer wardrobe needs a linen blouse in some form. There’s lot of forms that a linen top can come in, but aside from my linen button down my favorite form is that of a linen “tee.” Linen is just the ultimate warm weather material… it’s comfy, cool, and it’s still bearable even if it gets sweaty. I’d highly recommend linen tanks, but this tee is a super versatile option because it works for spring AND summer. I love pairing this with jean shorts, linen shorts, jeans, wide leg pants, etc. It’s the ultimate versatile summer top. This particular style runs a bit big so I’d size down, and it also comes in a ton of colors so if white isn’t your thing they have lots of other colors to choose from.
#3: A Button Down
Size up 2 sizes in the jeans
Another top I swear by in spring and summer is a button down. I refreshed my wardrobe this year with this blue striped version, and I think it screams warm weather! I love a button down for it’s versatility… you can roll up the sleeves for a shorter sleeve, you can throw it on over a tank on a chillier evening, and you can even wear it as a swimsuit coverup! Plus, it will transition to fall and winter so it’s a year round team player. This one is a GREAT option as it has a button at the side of the hemline so you can wear it open with a bit of extra room around the hips. Plus, the blue stripe is really subtle so it’s not over the top trendy. I got it in a size small.
So there you have it! Those are the 3 blouses you need in your capsule wardrobe. Did I get it right? Do you agree? Are there any other blouses you would add to the list? Let me know in the comments below!
Until next time,
Karin
Love this Karin! Yes, agree with all of your choices. Love anything linen, and button front, so my ‘statement’ blouse would probably have both 🙂 . Also love anything with a puff sleeve or ruffle detail right now. I might add a cashmere short sleeve tee to the list – I reach for them ALL the time, and they are perfect for layering!
Yes! I love when you can combine two categories! A Cashmere tee is very versatile so definitely agree!
You nailed it.
For Spring/Summer:
Those are the three most beautiful, useful
blouses to have in your wardrobe.
I love them.
With your 3 prs of jeans (black, white & dark-
wash) you truly have a great Spring/Summer
Capsule Wardrobe. Or the 3 blouses can be a
great addition to any wardrobe.
Thank you Eileen!
