Last Year’s Favorites Still in Stock This Year

Happy Friday my friends! Boy has it been a crazy couple of weeks here at our house. The first weeks back to school are always… interesting with kids that struggle with transitions, but I’m happy to report that this year has been our best year yet. Not perfect by any means… still some heavy moments of anxiety, but I’ve only had to have one conversation with a teacher so far and compared to my multiple back and forths a day last year with three different teachers, that is a vast improvement. ADHD is not something you can every just figure out and move on from, but I do feel like (at the moment) we are in a good place with our treatment plans and we’re seeing the fruit of all the hard work we’ve put in over the last couple of years. I’m really proud of my kiddos and I’m really proud of myself for not settling when things weren’t working. I can see now why it was worth it to be seen as “that” mom now that my kids are thriving.

But it has been a busy few weeks so I haven’t even had five minutes in one sitting to sit down and write a blog post. This post has been compiled in very small chunks here and there over the last couple of weeks 😆. Whatever works right? I had the idea for this post because I honestly haven’t had that much time to shop for new fall fashion as I normally do and so I’ve just been pulling out older things and noticing that there’s still a lot of things that I’m still really into… which isn’t a new or novel idea. I repeat my wardrobe pieces every fall as it is, but usually I feel like I have to focus on showing you guys newer pieces. So to change things up a bit I thought it would be fun to show you some of last year’s favorites that I’m pulling out again, and will continue to love this fall and winter season:

What I’m Wearing:

My bag is Polene

This navy striped sweater is an absolute staple in my wardrobe and there’s no better version than J. Crew’s classic roll neck. The intended fit of this sweater is quite snug so I size up two full sizes to get this more laid back oversized fit. It’s such a classic style in a classic, nautical print and it’ll stay in my wardrobe until it’s no longer wearable.

These pants became fast favorites last year as well… so much so that I bought them in multiple colors (as you’ll see below), this color is sadly no longer available, but they come in a bunch of other colors and are still very much in stock. I’m so happy casual trousers are a thing again because I find them very comfy and this style in particular feels like pajama pants, which we all know is the goal.

What I’m Wearing:

These cashmere crews are another staple in my fall and winter wardrobe. I have them in a couple of colors and they are my ultimate layering sweaters. I did a full review of them here (including sizing, quality, etc), so I won’t repeat myself here.

What I’m Wearing:

These sweaters (multiple because I again have it in more than one color) are a newer addition from this summer, but I had to include them because they became fast favorites as soon as I got them. They have the prettiest texture and the boxier fit makes them feel really laid back and casual, but they are also really pretty over dresses like I did here. They’re called a beach sweater because of the textured weave, but they can be worn year round because it’s not an open weave.

What I’m Wearing:

These boots are my boots. You know when you find the style of boot that you live in all fall and winter? These are mine. Again, I have them in multiple colors because I love them that much. They’re comfortable, I love how they look, the heel gives me just a bit of extra height without being hard to walk in, and the style is timeless. Because I live in a snowy, icy state I did have to put anti grip sole pads on them to keep them from slipping all over the place like a scene out of While You Were Sleeping.

What I’m Wearing:

Two things here: first, the best white shirt I’ve ever owned, and will never get rid of. It took me a long time to find a fit that I loved in a fabric I loved and this one just checks all the boxes. It’s perfectly oversized, and the fabric is a great mid weight cotton. I did not size up in this one.

These jeans are another repeat of mine and you’re probably absolutely sick of seeing them 😂. When you find the perfect jeans you wear them into the ground right?! I’ve obviously moved more in the direction of the baggier, wider leg fits for jeans, but this straight leg pair is absolutely perfect, both in fit and comfort and I will own a pair as long as I am able to. I’ve had this pair for three years now, have worn them to death, and they still look amazing so I don’t think they’re going anywhere anytime soon.

What I’m Wearing:

This pair of pants is another color of the above mentioned pant that I love.

This jacket was brought back this fall after selling out last year and I couldn’t be happier for any of you guys that wanted to pick it up because it was one of my most worn jackets last year. It’s kind of like a sweater jacket on steroids as the look of the sweater jacket is there, but the material is much thicker and more structured so it gives the warmth and feel of a light jacket. I did size up one size for this fit.

What I’m Wearing:

Speaking of sweater jackets, this one was one of my favorites from last year even though it was a bit unconventional for me. However, I did end up selling this color and I’ll only be keeping it in the cream. It was fun having this shade, but I realized that while I like pink, I’m not a huge fuschia girl. Still, it’s the style I that I love and I wanted to show it to you in this color particularly because it comes in a ton of fun colors and even some prints. I learned with this sweater not to size up and to get it in your true size so it hits your hips and the right spot.

These jeans are another pair of jeans you’re probably totally sick of seeing. I have also worn these to death, but oh man are these jeans good. I could probably get rid of every other pair of jeans besides this pair and my straight leg pair mentioned above and I would be content rotating between the two. This pair is meant to be cuffed and I love wearing them that way too, but I also equally love wearing them full length like this as well.

What I’m Wearing:

if you’ve followed me for any length of time then you know what a fan I am of these velvet Mary Jane flats. I could live in these flats alone and be a very happy girl… they are just the prettiest, most feminine shoes and I love the texture and sweetness that they add to any outfit. The craftsmanship is also impeccable and all three of my pairs are still in excellent shape. I bought my first pair used off of Poshmark about 5 years ago and other than a little scuffing at the toe they still look remarkably good… especially considering they are velvet.

This lady sweater jacket is also back in stock and it now comes in more colors than it did last year. I love the texture on the knit and the navy is such a classic shade for a traditional fit like this sweater. And even though it does have gold buttons I like that they are not too in your face.

Well that’s all I’ve got for you guys today! As always, thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed a peek into some of last year’s favorites. What are some of your favorites you can’t wait to pull out again this fall? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time,

Karin
