Christmas Day Outfit Inspiration for Every Occasion

Happy Wednesday friends! I hope everyone had a great Holiday last week and were able to recover afterwards ha! We got home on Sunday night and I still feel like I’m recovering… it always takes me a few days to get back into my routine, but you know what? That’s okay! I used to hate that recovery process, but now I just take it in stride. After all, there’s nothing wrong with a little extra relaxation time at the end of a vacation right? The tiredness and desire for rest is just my body’s way of telling me it needs… rest! Crazy right? Anyway. Speaking of this time of year… today I thought I’d share some Christmas Day outfit inspiration! The last couple of years, we’ve spent our day in our pajamas (wearing this pair this year), but we do have several family gatherings to attend this year so I’ve got outfit inspiration for all kinds of Christmas Day celebrations!

So let’s get to it shall we:

On the agenda: fancy Christmas Day dinner.

This is exactly what I’d wear to a fancy Christmas day or Christmas Eve dinner. It’s still really comfy with the leggings and tunic sweater, but the heeled boots and the faux fur coat make it dressed up enough to work. You could even pair this with a great pair of glittery earrings, but I’m a minimalist when it comes to my jewelry. I love that it’s simple, but classic and it looks sophisticated. In other words: check, check, and check.

On the agenda: Christmas Day with the family

This is likely what I’ll wear for Christmas Day services, but it’s also a great Christmas day outfit. And if you’re visiting family, just slip a pair of slippers into your bag and you’ll be cozy all day. This sweater is really cozy and soft, and these jeans are very forgiving and comfortable… they’re kind of like a balloon jean, but also kind of like a boyfriend style so the fit is perfect. A great outfit for a full day of celebrating!

On the agenda: any special Christmas day event

I wanted to throw this one in for anyone who doesn’t typically love a traditional Christmas outfit, but still want to feel like you are wearing something special. I love the interesting details on this outfit like the wide leg jeans, the 2 for 1 sweater (the sleeves are attached!), and the sherpa on the clogs. It has very feminine, vintage vibes and you’d still look very holiday appropriate even without the obvious red or green.

On the agenda: a Christmas dinner out

It’s not often that we actually go anywhere on Christmas day other than to other family members’ houses, but on the rare occasion that we might do a Christmas dinner out, this is what I would wear. This is also very similar to the second outfit so you could certainly do this instead, but these jeans are slightly less forgiving in their comfort level so they might not be as comfy for a day of eating. With that said, this is the perfect casual/dressy outfit for a nice Christmas dinner!

Well that’s all I’ve got for you guys today! Are you a fancy Christmas Day dresser or are you a PJ dresser like us? I’m still working on getting David on board with the matching family PJ’s, but it hasn’t gone well so far ha!

Until next time,
Karin
