A Very 90’s Inspired Outfit For Fall

Happy Friday friends! I am happy to say that I am FINALLY feeling better (we’ve had Covid recently). I’m still really tired, but I at least don’t feel sick anymore. Just in time because I’m getting a bit stir crazy and I think my kids are too… plus apparently the summer is almost over? It’s weird how that always seems to happen so fast.

ANYWAY, today’s outfit is a very 90’s inspired outfit… I felt very Meg Ryan in You’ve Got Mail in this outfit which filled me with all kinds of nostalgia.

I’ll admit that recently Everlane and I have had a parting in terms of my style vs. what they have to offer. I just haven’t found much that appeals to my more romantic side in their recent offerings (with the exception of these jeans, which I already reviewed), but when I saw this little cropped cardigan I was immediately sold. It’s just the perfect little 90’s inspired cardigan and it’s perfect for early fall. It is quite thin so it might not be the best once the weather cools way down, but it’s a great layering piece for cool temps. I love it styled this way with a basic tank top and some dark wash jeans for a bit of a retro feel, but it’s the perfect length and weight over a sundress to carry it through fall. And I love that the fit is a tiny bit boxier even though the arms are quite snug. I went for my normal size small, but it is a bit on the smaller side so I’d suggest sizing up.

Honorable mentions go to these sandals and this tank. The tank hasn’t been released yet, but it’s a great little staple with such a classic fit. I love how it shows off my shoulders! If you don’t mind wearing a strapless bras then this is a great little tank to add to your rotation… it’ll be perfect under all the fall cardigans!

And the sandals, as a final thought, are really beautifully made. I’m kind of over buying new sandals at the moment, but I was pleasantly surprised by the style of these… they are much more feminine than some of of the other shoe styles that Everlane has released this summer, and while I probably won’t get much more wear out of them this season, I look forward to styling them up a bit more next summer. They are really comfortable, and I’ve had no issues with rubbing. They run true to size.
