Hello and happy Friday friends! This week has been a bit of a whopper for me (life update coming soon) and I am very happy to see the end of this week come and go… although we DID have gloriously cool weather this past week which has been (quite literally) a breath of fresh air. Tomorrow will return to the expected summer weather, but a trip to the beach will cure any regret over the changing temps.
Today I wanted to share with you what I actually ended up purchasing from the 2022 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale because it ended up being pretty drastically different from what I mentioned I might buy in my initial try on post. I ended up returning almost everything after thinking through what I actually wanted/needed. The pants I thought I’d keep I decided were too cropped for fall/winter use and the jeans I thought I’d keep would have needed to be hemmed and I wasn’t sure the cool flare would be retained with the end hemmed.
I also returned the white cashmere sweater… it was pretty expensive and with such a trendy distressed detail on it I decided the expense wasn’t worth something I may not like in a couple of years.
So what did I end up keeping from this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
First things:
Outfit Details:
Bag | Sweater (S) | Pants (26) | Sandals (size down) | Sunglasses | Earrings
Somehow I missed this black tote bag from All Saints on my first look through, but I’m so happy I saw it on a second look. I have been on the hunt for a black tote bag for a long time and this one is exactly what I wanted! It has the perfect shape… I like my bags to have some sort of interest in their shape and I like the way this one fans out with the pleats down the middle. So much more interesting than a classic tote! I also like the pebbled leather. The texture makes it a much heartier bag with 4 kids just waiting to spill things all over the front. It also is much harder to scratch up than a smooth grain leather. It has the option of a shoulder strap or an arm strap and I like that the shoulder drop isn’t too long; it hits at the perfect spot on my legs. Plus the straps are the right width for being comfortable long term. It’s a great little bag and it’s on pretty major sale! A great time to pick one up if you also need a black tote bag.
Outfit Details:
Cardigan (S) | Boots (TTS) | Pants (26) | Sunglasses | Earrings | Tee is old
This maxi cardigan is the one thing I did end up purchasing from my initial try on. It has a great length and I love the oversized fit… you can read more of an in depth review in that post.
I ended up returning every pair of boots I tried on originally. I mentioned I’m looking for a pair of brown boots, and on further reflection I decided I wanted a pair I can wear with straight leg jeans and with wide leg jeans/pants. This pair was definitely an investment, but I have always had good experiences with this brand in terms of quality and longevity and the styles are always the best mash up of classic and current. I love that this pair has that slight retro feel that seems to be hitting hard for fall fashion trends. They look very cool and vintage with a pair of longer wide leg pants, but they’re also current enough that they’ll look great completely exposed with a pair of cropped straight leg jeans. They’re also very comfortable and wearable even though they do have a pretty substantial heel to them. The block heel makes them as easy to walk in as a pair of flat boots. I’m very happy to add these into my fall and winter rotation!
My Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Final Purchases:
Well that’s it guys! Just a few really good things. I’m super happy with what I ended up with… these three things will supplement my fall wardrobe really well and will add a bit of fresh energy that I’m excited for. And just a reminder that this weekend is the last weekend to shop! There’s still quite a lot that’s still in stock and when I was looking on the website last night I noticed there have been a lot of restocks so make sure to check and see if something you wanted is back in stock!
I hope you guys have a great weekend!
Until next time,
Karin
