Red and Pink Sweaters for Valentines Day (or Spring!)

Happy Monday friends! I hope your week is starting off on the right foot… I’m currently enjoying a yummy lunch while I type this so yay! Sorry if that made you hungry. Feel free to pause and grab a snack if you need to. 😉 ANYWAY. I have recently acquired a red and a pink sweater… it sounds funny to say that, but it IS a bit monumental considering they are the only two colorful sweaters in my closet ha!

I didn’t intend to acquire Valentines themed sweaters, but fate intervened, and here I am now writing this post for you.

So yeah! We’re chatting red and pink sweaters for Valentines Day today.

I’ve got a more casual look, and a bit more of a dressed up look, but you can pull off either outfit by swapping the sweaters so they are pretty versatile outfits.

I will MOST likely be wearing the more casual outfit as David and I don’t plan on going anywhere, but just in case I get motivated to dress up a bit for a date night at home I can reach for my more dressy look.

Okay. Here’s the looks:

This look is about as casual as you can get, but it’s a look that is realistic for me. It’s practical for my lifestyle, but it’s still a bit festive! I also really love the color of this sweater because it will be really pretty for spring and summer (with jean shorts!). I have it in a size small. You could also easily dress this outfit up with a pair of nude flats or heels (this is what I will most likely do for our at home date night).

Just a quick disclosure: I ended up returning these jeans. When I tried them on straight out of the box they were VERY tight, so I wore them around the house for a week (including for these photos), and they did stretch out a bit, but mostly in the waist. They are still really tight in my thighs and hips, but now too loose in the waist. I think they would be great for someone with a straighter shape, but for curvier shapes I wouldn’t recommend.

The slip skirt is older Madewell so I linked to similar styles at a variety of price points.

This is becoming my go to formula for a dressier look in cold weather. I just really love the ease of this kind of combo, that it keeps me warm, but also that it’s still really chic and cute. The red sweater is what really makes it special for a holiday like Valentines Day (it was also great for Christmas!). Like I mentioned above you can swap the sweaters and still have a really cute casual look… and this is also another sweater that I can’t wait to wear in the spring and summer. I have it in a size medium.

Well that’s all I’ve got for you guys today! I hope you enjoyed this quick (and festive!) post. Will you be dressing up for Valentines Day? Or sticking to casual? Let me know in the comments below!

Until next time,

Karin
