Ethical Shop Highlight: Brass

Karin Rambo of truncationblog.com shares about the ethical shop BrassYou guys! I’m so excited to share this post with you today! It’s my kick off post for a new series I’ll be doing during the month of April.

I’ll be sharing a new ethical shop for you each Friday so that you can start to get to know some great brands that are making such a positive impact in the world of fashion.

Excited? I am!

I really couldn’t be more thrilled to kick off the series with Brass.

You’ll understand why after reading this snippet from their website:

“We believe that women today are busy, on-the-go. With all there is to do in life, who’s got time to stand in front of the closet, wondering, “What in-all-hell do I wear today?”

We know you’ve got better things to do with your time than question your outfit. That’s why we created a simple collection of beautiful basics. No more wondering what to wear. So, go ahead. Get dressed and get on with your life. That’s Brass.

The simple truth is we admired designer dresses and couldn’t afford them. We found the alternative of cheap fast-fashion cringe-worthy. And we thought, “We can’t be the only two women who feel this way.”

Right?!

But even more than that, I love that they have a section on their website that details the factories they use and the personal relationships that they have with the people that work in them. Talk about transparency… something every company should be willing to share, but very few actually do.

They have been the loveliest company to work – they helped me figure out which of their dresses would best suit my body type and what size works best for me (check out their body guide). And the quality of the pieces really are designer worthy. I know my pieces will be in my wardrobe for a very long time.

As you can see from the pictures above, I thought I would show you two ways that I styled each of my dresses. They’re both excellent for dressing up or dressing down, and the classic styles make these the kind of dresses that fit perfectly in a long term capsule wardrobe.

Do check them out! I think you’ll really love their vibe. And cheers to ethical clothing companies like Brass that leave us looking chick and effortless!

If you want even more inspiration, check out Andrea’s post on how she styled the white version of my navy blue dress.

Until next time,

Signature

P.S. Thanks to Brass for providing me with the two dresses used in this post!

I checked out their website a week or so ago, and the dresses are BEAUTIFUL.
And even better: they ship internationally! 🙂
I have a few pieces that I have my eye on, and I think I might take the plunge once I’ve worn my current capsule a little more and know what is still missing in my summer wardrobe…
    Have a great weekend!

I love the Body Guide! I have been seeing features like this on more and more sites, and it makes me so happy! I could definitely see myself in the Band Dress or the Boatneck Tank. Maybe they’ll introduce more navy and white versions over the summer.

Love, LOVE how you styled these Karin! That black vest, MEOW! 😉 I get so much wear out my A-line dress, and compliments all the time! I love it in navy, and I really like that black dress! If I didn’t already have a similar one, I’d be jonesing for that one. I love what Brass stands for and the products they create! 🙂

Thank you for the post, you look lovely in both dresses, and I really like the styling. Brass seems like a lovely company. I am considering to add the black dress to my capsule, but am unsure if it will be too short. I am 5’9. How tall are you, for Reference?

Thanks Johanne! They are a wonderful company! I’m 5’4″ and it’s knee length, BUT I’m rather short torsoed, so I imagine the dress would be around the same length on you, but less blousy on top.
