A Change of Plans

I’ve alluded a bit to this (and by alluded to it, I mean I’ve complained a few times) on Instagram and Facebook,

but…

I’m overwhelmed with life right now.

We are in the process of selling and buying our house and anyone else that’s also currently in this stage knows that this is not a buyers market. So there is just a lot of stress surrounding the whole house hunting process.

Combine that with the stress of multiple showings at our house during the day and, well, you get the picture.

I guess you could say life is kicking me in the butt right now.

So with that said, for the sake of my sanity and the sake of my family’s sanity I’m going to be backing off of blogging just a bit. My goal is to still do two posts a week and we’ll see how that goes.

But it’s just for this season. I’ll be back when things calm down again… because I really love sharing with you guys.

Another thing I wanted to address was including clothing links in my blog post. If you’ll remember, when I started pursuing ethical fashion, I took away links because I didn’t want to encourage shopping.

But after a lot of thought and talking to other ethical fashion bloggers, I’ve decided to bring them back… for a variety of reasons, but mainly because I want to make it easy for you to discover new, ethical clothing options.

Plus, I recognize that not all shopping is a bad thing. And if you need to shop, at least you can come to my site and find good recommendations.

The other main reason is that since I’ve taken links away, I’ve been getting a lot of e-mails and messages asking where what I’m wearing is from. It’s taking a lot of my time to respond to these e-mails and I think it would just be easier to link options directly in the post.

Now here is where I want to be really transparent with you. I will be using affiliate links. So just know that if you click on any of the links I will make a small commission off of it. But don’t worry, I’ll only be linking up things that are relevant to my capsules. I won’t start dropping links like its hot (does using that phrase age me??).

So there you have it: random Wednesday thoughts. This week I’ll be skipping Friday’s post and then next week, I’ll jump on my new schedule of Monday and Friday posts.

Thanks for understanding! Life is not always how we want it to be, but I’m hoping by the end of the summer we’ll be in a place where we can look back on this time with contentment.

Until next time,

Sometimes life does get in the way. And what I’ve come to understand, especially now as a mom, is that something has to give – I really can’t do everything, as much as I want to.
Take your time and good luck house-hunting!

Good for you! I had to back off of posting 5x a week because I just couldn’t maintain quality posts while also working full time and wanting to enjoy my life a bit too. 3x a week has been perfect for me. I hope after your busy season you’ll come back recharged! Will be following your journey here no matter how often you post.

I just went through this process last year! I completely understand the need to space from blogging a little bit! I’m so glad you included links for the ethical clothing. I definitely use your blog as a reference for shopping!

I was literally just thinking to myself the other day “how does Karin manage to stay so active on her blog and social media with everything she has going on?!” So I’m kind of relieved that you are backing for a little bit so you don’t have to feel like you’re being pulled in a million directions. We are two days away from closing on a house and the process has been about as fun as a pap smear. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you that everything works out with the house!
