Haaapy Monday friends! I’m feeling like a new woman starting my second week with all three of the older girls at school ha! It’s been SO quiet around here, and Gabe and I have gone on many dates already. I haven’t had consistent alone time in aboooout 7 years so getting a couple of hours while Gabe naps is unbelievable. Haha! I could go on, but I won’t.
Oh my gosh you guys, I was WAITING for the Doen new fall releases. Doen has slowly become one of my very favorite brands over the last few years. I feel like they just get me. They are the perfect mix of vintage inspired, feminine, and yet practical (or at least everything I’ve bought). The fabrics are easy for motherhood, the quality is beautiful, and they wash so easily. And every time I put on one of their pieces I feel so good.
The two pieces I picked up from their recent collection are no different. This dress you guys. It is stunning! I honestly don’t think I’ve ever owned a dress I’ve loved more. It’s relatively simple in construction with no real embellishments, but the floral pattern, the length, the oversized puff sleeves… adds that perfect amount of drama without making it fussy. I love that the dress doesn’t have any lace or ribbons or anything else that can easily get snagged when hanging out with my kids. I just feel SO feminine and pretty when I wear it. It’s made of the breeziest organic cotton poplin and it’s one of those dresses that will work year round with the right layers. It’s also one of their least expensive dresses, which is a nice bonus! I got a small, and I’d say the dress runs very true to size.
The sweater is another beautiful piece for fall! I’ve never purchased a sweater from Doen, and this one is exceeds every expectation! It’s so soft and cuddly, and I love the slightly slouchy yet slightly fitted fit. It’s the perfect length for throwing over dresses, but it also looks beautiful slightly tucked into a pair of jeans. In fact this sweater, these flats, and a lighter wash pair of straight leg jeans… perfection! I got my true size small because I didn’t want it to be oversized and it’s perfect!
