30 Days of Summer Style Day 2: Homebodies

Welcome back to 30 Days of Summer Style Day 2! I said I was going to be forthright and show you exactly what I wear everyday…

and of course that means that we were bound to have a sick day on day two ha! All four of us woke up with symptoms of summer colds this morning (yay!) so we decided to have a lazy day on the couch watching Frozen.

It’s not often I get prolonged snuggles from my girls’ anymore so I’m happy to soak them up, even if we aren’t feeling very well.

Thankfully, the weather matches our moods… it’s a rainy, stormy kind of day so we’re not missing out on any outdoor play time.

This is a very typical outfit for me when we’re just staying in for the day. I do truly like to get dressed everyday, but in a very pared down sort of way.

Denim shorts and a tee (and then a sweatshirt when I got chilly) are both comfortable and easy, but a little more “extra” than my pajama shorts.

I mentioned in my summer capsule post that I didn’t include any warm layers, but I did keep a few handy in my closet just in case… and I’m already reaching for them ha! I do love a cozy sweatshirt like this one from Tradland’s though.

It’s the perfect amount of warmth, and it’s not bulky or cumbersome when I’m doing normal “mom things.” This particular color is from their spring launch, and it has a more over-sized fit than their previous versions. To be honest, I prefer the slimmer fit of the original version (you can see it styled here) but for pregnancy this style works perfectly over my bump. We’ll see how I feel after I’ve had a chance to style it postpartum. I do adore the new rust color though. It’s a perfect muted rusty orange, and it fits seamlessly into the rest of my closet.

Yay for cozy, comfy layers! Hopefully we’ll be feeling a bit better tomorrow… fingers crossed. In the meantime I’ll be counting down the hours until David gets home so I can take a nap. 😉

See you tomorrow!
