What to Pack for Holiday Travel

This post is going to be a short one because… ALL OF THE THINGS!

Seriously though, my to do list is massive, we’re starting our holiday travel tomorrow and today two of my best friends are in town.

So sorry friends! Little time for blogging today.

I did want to put together a holiday travel capsule for you guys though because I (think?) this is the only traveling we’ll be doing for this capsule and I think travel capsules are one of the best ways to see how versatile a capsule wardrobe really is.

We’ll be spending ten days with family so all of the pieces in this capsule are what I’m planning on packing (I might swap a few pieces last minute, but this is the general idea).

Over the next week, I’ll show you my outfits per usual so you can see how I pair these 11 items.

And on that note I’ll leave you for today…

I am so excited for the holiday activities to commence…

Though I am dreading the six hour car ride to my parents. Ella and Rosie have never really been great car nappers and they can also be quite loud (they love to talk to each other), which means Kit probably won’t nap either. The little tricksters! Total side note, but lately the twins’ sense of humor is really starting to blossom and its so much fun!

Last night, I was trying to change Ella and get her in her sleep sack and Rosie kept rolling over and grabbing it and giggling super hard whenever I would say “no no!” And Ella thinks it’s hilarious whenever I slow dance with her. Haha!

Also, another side, side note: Kit is now in a big girl bed! We had found one on Craig’s List and so we picked it up, but I wasn’t planning on transitioning her quite yet. But then she saw it and was so excited about it that we decided to go for it. Her first nap she woke up really scared (I think because she didn’t know where she was), but she’s doing great so far! Fingers crossed…

Anyway! Back to Christmas:

We always eat so much junk food, watch all of my favorite Christmas movies, and just have such a good time. My family has Italian roots so I love when we all come together because a. food and b. it’s loud.

Plus David and I might sneak away for a quick date. Mom if you’re reading this… would you like to babysit? ?

What are your favorite holiday traditions? Let me know in the comments!

Merry Christmas!! We don’t travel more than 2 hours for our Christmas festivities, so I don’t get to experiment with travel capsules. But I still love seeing what people put together for their travels in different seasons! Hopefully your girls will all surprise you and nap for the car ride. ?? Safe travels!

Merry Christmas to you as well! Lucky you on your short drive. My parents plan to move up by us eventually and I am counting down the days!

Traveling for the holidays with kids is tough! We made through 8 hours of air travel and are now enjoying lots of wine and naps while my in-laws take care of the kiddos. ? I hope your car ride goes smoothly!

I planned a travel capsule for the first time and so far it’s going well. I was able to pack a lot less than I normally do (14 items for 14 days) and haven’t repeated outfits yet. Still nine days to go though…

    Merry Christmas!

Sounds amazing haha! In-Laws are definitely good for that! I’m glad your first travel capsule was a success! They really do make packing a lot easier!
