I posted a photo of this dress a few weeks ago and I had a few messages asking if it was practical for cold weather given the fact that it’s made of linen.
The answer is yes!
And let me tell you, I live in the land of freeze your buns off so if I can get away with styling linen for winter.. so can you.
With a bit of layering, it can take you through all seasons.
If it’s sort of cold, just layer some tights and a base layer and you’re golden!
When it’s absolutely freezing just keep on going with those layers and add a cardigan and scarf!
And the thicker those layers, the warmer the outfit.
Seems like common sense really, but I think sometimes we forget to think outside of the box when it comes to our clothing. But if we can manage to think outside of the box our wardrobes will take us so much further and we’ll end up needing less in the long run.
It’s amazing how many warm weather items you can bring into cold weather with a well placed cardigan or turtleneck underneath.
What do you guys think? Do you extend the life of your pieces with layers? Any tips? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time,
I spend most of winter in a base layer of leggings and a turtleneck and just put stuff over that. I also live in a freeze your butt off land and this combo keeps me from freezing. It was a miracle when I started wearing looser pants that leggings can fit under. It pretty much doubled the number of practical winter outfits I can make.
Yes! The trend of wider legs makes me so happy for that exact reason!
