Winter Capsule Outfit No. 47: Turning a Dress into a Skirt

Turning a Dress into a Skirt-1 Turning a Dress into a Skirt-1

I think I’m at that point in my winter capsule wear I’m starting to get a bit bored with the clothes that I included.

The 10×10 was a nice breath of fresh air, but now that it’s over I feel like I’m coasting a bit.

I think a huge part of it is that spring feels like its right around the corner (it doesn’t hurt that today its 30 degrees warmer than it has been lately) and I pretty much have my spring capsule figured out already but…

I’m at that point where playing around with my wardrobe is a bit of a necessity if I want to see this season through.

Because I’m really trying this time around to only stick with the pieces I included.

I know in past capsules I’ve reached for pieces from the rest of my closet here and there, but I told myself at the beginning of this capsule that I wanted to do my best to find contentment with the set amount of clothing I included.

I’ve been struggling with contentment lately and I’m trying to push myself a bit in that area instead of coasting and only going with my instincts (because believe it or not sometimes my instincts steer me in the wrong direction).

So yeah, I’m mixing things up. I know putting a sweatshirt over a dress might not be that crazy to a lot of you, but it’s something I’ve never done before and I liked the way it turned out.

I didn’t include a skirt in this capsule and now, suddenly I have one! I’ll be trying this combo with some of my other tops as well.

It makes me want to try some other not so obvious combos. So you tell me: what are your favorite ways to mix things up with your clothing? Any styling tips?
