I’m going to be honest with you guys: these shoes may already be moving to the sell pile.
I wanted to get a colorful pair of tennis shoes that weren’t high tops since I wore my yellow converse so much over the winter.
So I thrifted these on eBay, and I really love the way they look.
BUT, they kill my feet! Like cut up, blistered heels every time I’ve worn them.
Has anyone else owned a pair of Vans that needed intense breaking in? I’m willing to allow flats or boots have a breaking in period, but I have very little patience for a pair of sneakers that need breaking in.
I don’t know. Maybe I’m being too hasty?
I think what I’ll do is try to give them some time during this spring capsule and see if they break in, and if they haven’t by June I’ll feel okay about letting them go.
One of the things I love/hate about doing capsule wardrobes is that they make you think so hard about each item of clothing that you have in your wardrobe.
I’ve noticed that there have been a few pieces lately where I purchased them and then was disappointed in the quality, which is a clear sign that I need to do a better job of researching pieces if I’m going to purchase them online. I guess online reviews are there for a reason!
But at the same time, I don’t want to hang onto something that I won’t wear because it physically pains me ha!
How do you guys decide when its time to let go? Do you have a rule of thumb that you follow, or do you just wing it?
Let me know in the comments!
On another note, these jeans that I thrifted back in December have been SO good to me… so to give myself back some perspective: you win some, you lose some.
Oh and just a bit of housekeeping: these next two weeks are super busy so I may have to skip my weekly outfit roundups. I’ll probably be able to do next weeks, but at this point I’m planning on skipping this week. Just an FYI!
