Oh Mylanta you guys it has been a week! I’m trying to figure out a way to keep you guys updated with everything in a more long form sort of way because there’s so much to say right now that updates would just take over everything else. I’ll let you know if I figure anything out in that regard, but suffice to say this past week was truly the week from hell in terms of my mental health and I’m so glad it’s over. I was switching medications and the switch… did not go well. BUT on a positive note, the worst is over and I’m feeling good on this new medication even though I can tell there will need to be some tweaks. Baby steps (who gets that 90’s movie reference??) right?
I used to feel so frivolous using fashion as a source of distraction from all of this crap going on in my life, but now I don’t feel that way at all. Now I am SO thankful to have something light, fun, and creative that can help me hold the tension in balance. I NEED something like gorgeous new Sezane pieces for fall (or a good session pinning fall fashion will do) to take the edge off of a hard day of trying to hold it all together. And to be fair, it’s not always fashion. Sometimes it’s reading a light read, sometimes it’s a meandering walk, a funny movie, etc. my point is, I’ve learned to accept all parts of myself and see them as all being equally important.
So YES, this new wool bomber jacket from Sezane is making me happy after a week of hell. It’s soft (SO soft), warm and cozy and it looks chic as hell. I love that it’s a bomber jacket, but it’s not so obvious… which means when the bomber jacket trend is over it’ll still look great. It’s also hard to tell in these photos, but it has a slight chevron print. It’s not over the top at all, but it creates just a tiny bit of interest to the eye and gives the appearance of texture. This is a 10/10 for me – I went up to a size medium because I’m all about the oversized these days so stick with your true size if you want a more normal fit.
I also ordered this classic striped sweater. I own quite a few striped sweaters already (they’re my weakness!), but I didn’t have one in this thicker blue and white stripe so I’m happy to have this in my rotation. It has a very coastal vibe to it so it’ll be a great year round staple and the finer knit is super soft with a fine to medium weight so it’s perfect for layering. I also went up to a medium in this one!
Well friends? Let’s hope for a good week for all of us with cute outfits in the forecast 😉.
Until next time,
Karin
I love that striped jumper and hope they restock soon!
