Happy Wednesday friends! I’m still mostly recovering from the long weekend, so I decided to post a fun mid week pick me up for you guys in the form of a Madewell haul. I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve really been loving the new in section at Madewell recently, and it was honestly hard to narrow things down to a few outfits to share with you guys!
But I think I did a good job. 😉
Before we go any further, this post is not sponsored although the accompanying Instagram post is so these clothes were gifted as a part of that collaboration. I was able to select the clothing I wanted to share, and all thoughts and opinions are genuine and my own.
This time of year though I pretty much stop buying clothes that are super specific to summer… it’s not that I’m wishing away summer or trying to hurry along fall, but realistically we only have 1-2 months of really warm weather left and I want clothing that I can transition into fall and continue to get use out of. And honestly? Madewell has always been a go to brand for pieces that that are great year round.
SO. I have three outfits to show you as a part of this Madewell haul so let’s get into it!
P.S. Don’t forget that my Madewell discount code is still going strong! Use code KarinEmily at checkout to get $25 off of $125+. Just make sure you are logged into your Insider account (free to sign up!) before entering the code.

Sizing notes: wearing a size 2 in the top, a 25 in the jeans, and a 9 in the shoes
OOOH I love this outfit! As soon as I saw this top on the website I was instantly smitten. Blue and white has always been a favorite color combo of mine and the particular shades of this are so lovely. I LOVE the way it looks with jeans, but I also think it would look great with white jeans/pants or even as a workwear option under a black suit. I also love the sweetheart neckline, the puffed sleeves, and (you can’t tell this in the photo) the functional buttons down the front. It’s lined, and the shoulders are cut in such a way that you can wear pretty much whatever bras you want (I mean, probably not a sports bras ha!).
The mules are also a great summer to fall addition… especially with the creamy white color. These mules are super comfortable with no pinched toes and they stay on super well. I think the shape is especially nice – not too pointy, and a timeless shape that’s not going anywhere anytime soon. I’m wearing my true size, and they fit perfectly.
I’m really loving the color of the bag for late summer into fall. It’s a really pretty mushroom/taupe color (even though the website calls it Ash Green, I wouldn’t say it’s green) and it fits SO much! I already have the smaller version of this bag in brown and its a really versatile shape (i.e. the shape doesn’t hinder how much you can fit into it) and it’s super comfortable to carry. It has the optional crossbody strap which I appreciate as a busy mom, and the shoulder straps are long enough to fit comfortably on your shoulders. It has a magnetic closure and an interior pocket.
Finally, the jeans are the most magical unicorn jeans you’ll ever find ha! I have a full review of them in my Madewell Denim Guide so I will direct your attention there instead of repeating myself.

Sizing notes: wearing a small in the dress and a 9 in the sneakers
I have REALLY loved Madewell’s dresses this year and this one does not disappoint. the ruffle sleeve, the v-neck, baby doll waist, the seersucker… it’s such a cute dress! It’s very lightweight so it’s a great dress for now, but I can’t wait to pair it with a denim jacket once the weather cools down a bit. It would also be super cute with a pair of leggings underneath! And yes… it does have pockets. 😉 It’s not lined, but nude underwear won’t show through… although I do always wear a pair of bike shorts under my mini dresses for a little extra protection. I always size up in shorter dresses, and I would suggest doing the same.
The sneakers are really well made, and I love that they are leather. I chose the all white version because I like the idea of a crisp white pair of leather sneakers… it’s a very minimal vibe, but still really cool. I got my true size in these, and full disclosure: they are going to need some breaking in because I did get some blisters on my heels the first time I wore them (although I was not wearing socks… ankle socks would have helped avoid the blisters). I’ve never had a pair of leather sneakers that didn’t need SOME breaking in so it’s not a mark against the sneakers, but I did want to give you that heads up.

Sizing notes: wearing a small in the tee, a small in the shorts, and a 9 in the sandals
This tee is… a tee ha! There’s not much to say about a tee, but I did want to point out that I love the crop on this tee! It makes it just a tad different than a normal tee, and gives it a really fun vibe. I am very short waisted so for those of you with a longer torso, you probably wouldn’t be able to pair it with these shorts unless you’re wanting to show some midsection. But it should be fine with a good pair of really high waisted bottoms. I went for a small in this instead of my typical XS in their tees and I appreciate the extra room.
The shorts are SOOO good you guys! I think these will be so cute with a sweater once the weather cools down a bit. I decided to go with my larger Madewell size for shorts (small) in these because I wanted a more relaxed, casual vibe so if you want a more fitted look, I would definitely go with your smaller size because I do think they run big. They’re called a pull on short, but they do have a button fly. I love the deep front pockets, and the charcoal gray color. You also have the option of wearing them with a belt because of the belt loops. They are just so, so comfy!
AHHH these sandals! You guys have probably already figured out by now how much I love them based on the fact that I’ve been wearing them NON stop (I cycle between the black and the other brown pair I own)! If you have been interested in trying the chunky sandal trend, but you just can’t do the super trendy chunky sandals that are all the rage right now TRY these. They are chunky, but still very sleek and the platform is subtle… which also means that they won’t go out of trend in a few years. They are also SO comfy – I haven’t had any issues with rubbing or blisters and they have a cushioned sole so they feel like you are walking on a pillow. I went with my true size of 9 and they fit perfectly.
Finally, this bag is a huge favorite! It’s going to be perfect this fall and winter, but I also love it for warmer weather paired with a more muted palette like this one. It’s a very minimal design with the open top and wide strap – there’s no real design elements on it other than a side pocket that’s perfect for your phone or a pair of sunglasses. There is a pocket on the inside, and it fits SO much in it. It’s also very lightweight so it’s a great bag to wear for a day’s use. It has the same leather as the Transport Totes and it’s so beautiful. Such a great staple!
Alright you guys! That’s all I’ve got. What do you think? Some good stuff right? Let me know in the comments which look you like the best! Also, make sure to check out Instagram because I’ll be sharing some ways I’ll be transitioning these looks to cooler weather in my stories (I’ll save to my Madewell highlight just in case you don’t see this post today!).
Until next time,
Karin
