Monochromatic Dressing in Blue: Fall Capsule Wardrobe ’21 Outfit 2

Today’s fall capsule outfit is brought to you by monochromatic dressing. 🙂

Did anyone else notice the Instagram outage yesterday? Did anyone else think it was kind of nice? Ha! One area of my life that I am attempting to be more intentional in is in my use of social media. Earlier this year I removed myself from Facebook (best decision ever!), and more recently I’ve been really limiting my time on Instagram. But more than that, I have slowly whittled the people I follow down to people who truly do inspire me and encourage me in some fashion.

I digress.

My point being, maybe we all just needed a little break from social media.

Shop the Look:

Capsule Categories: An oversized sweater, mid wash jeans, and a pair of mules

You all know how much I love a monochromatic outfit moment, and this outfit is my favorite way to do it (hint: subtle). I love how the blue tones play off of each other, but the difference in texture makes this a bit less shocking than a Canadian Tuxedo… although a quick google search does make me rethink that statement a little bit. 😉 The ribbed detail in the sweater and the distressing in the jeans also make a really nice contrast. This sweater is one of my favorites this season – the color is so pretty and soft and I love the oversized fit… it pairs so nicely with a pair of slim straight leg jeans like this pair I picked up in the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, which are super comfy and stretchy. Overall, this outfit is a very practical one as a full time mom, but it’s also one that makes me feel stylish and, well… good. Which is what our clothes should do for us right?

So here’s a challenge for you today: if you have some extra time today, play around with a few different outfits from your closet that do that for you… that make you feel stylish and good. Then write down what it is you love about those outfits (is it the fit? The color? etc.). It’ll help you figure out which clothes you feel best in so you can make smarter clothing purchases in the future.

K! That’s all I’ve got for today. I’ll see you tomorrow!
