Probably one of my best shots ever… just saying.

Happy Monday my friends!

We had such a lovely weekend doing all sorts of over the top Christmasy things. I loved it.

But who cares about what kind of weekend I had. Am I right?

I’m sure most of you have noticed by now that my capsules don’t ever include “fancy” clothing items.

Honestly? My lifestyle doesn’t really lend itself to needing these items super often so it’s a waste of space to include them in my daily wear items.

But, sometimes I DO need something a bit fancier… especially this time of year with all of the Holiday parties.

So my eventual plan is to have a mini capsule that includes a few dresses and shoes that I can pull out when an event calls for them.

But, ugh… dress up clothing has always been a bit of a struggle for me. I hate to spend money on it, and I’ve never really found a “cheap” dress that I absolutely love.

What ends up happening is that I keep buying a new dress every time I have a new event because I don’t really have anything that I love to wear.

I want to change that.

I’ve decided to save up and get a few dresses that I absolutely love and will work for any type of event that I might need to attend. In other words, it’s time to put on my big girl pants and do some investing.

Really, I’ll end up saving money in the long run because I won’t be throwing money away on dresses I’ll only wear once.

But oh.my.word. I am SOO picky when it comes to dresses that I know it’s going to take me awhile to get this mini capsule in place. My plan is to keep you updated as I add pieces to it.

But wait! There is hope yet. I actually found a dress that I am IN LOVE WITH. Molly at Mosifer P. was kind enough to send me her Samuel dress and the minute I put it on it was love at first sight.

It’s simple, clean, and it feels like a cloud. It’s the kind of dress you can wear all night and not regret your decision. It’s a little black dress, but it’s extra special because of the cut and fabric.

It’s absolutely lovely!

I’m so glad to have connected with her. Not only because she makes great products (I also REALLY like her Lowa top and the Antelope jacket), but because she has an incredible vision.

Mosifer P. is all about quality pieces that require consideration before purchasing. Molly is really adamant about sustainable practices in garment construction and urging her customers to think about the bigger impact of their purchases.

Plus, she is very conscious of her fiber choices — silk, wool and other recycled fibers especially.

Cool right?

She’s exactly the kind of female entrepreneur that we celebrate here at Truncation.

And because she is awesome, she wants to give you guys a promo code! The code is for 20% off all in-stock holiday-ready wear (everything that is listed in the holiday section under the shop tab is in-stock). It’s good through the first of the year, but if you order by December 20th, you’ll have it in time for Christmas!

Most importantly, the code is: TRUNCHOLIDAY

Cheers to that! And cheers to celebrating your Holiday with pieces that you love.

Until next time,

Signature

P.S. If you are curious about my shoes, they can be found here. My bag and necklace were my grandmother’s so I can’t help you there. 🙂

P.S.S. I feel naked without my glasses… help!

  3. What a lovely holiday outfit! The shoes are very special looking and really accent the entire ensemble very well. And what a beautiful location to take fashion portraits. That wall in the background with notes is both whimsical and stunning. I had to stop for just a moment to wonder what that musical melody would sound like if played…

  4. That IS a great dress! I love that she is using sustainable fibers and is conscientious. So many great things all in one pretty black dress! You look great and that wall is so neat!!!
