We had the best weekend.
With all of this crazy stress we’ve had in our lives lately David and I decided we needed to just relax and spend some time together as a family…
in other words we wanted to pretend like life is normal.
So Saturday morning we had breakfast together and then went to the farmer’s market. It was super hot and humid, but we found some nice shaded areas to just relax and people watch… it was perfect.
Is there anything better than spending time with family?
You know, the older I get, the more of a homebody I become. I love to travel and explore new places and things, but at the end of the day, what I love more than anything is to just do simple things with my little family.
And I’m not just craving simpler activities either.
I think it’s partly because there are a lot of complicated things in my life that I can’t control. In order to stay sane, I find myself craving a simpler life with less distractions.
I know I mentioned before, but that was exactly what I had in mind when I created this summer capsule. I wanted it to simplify my life and not make it more complicated.
This organic circle shirt from my friend Sara’s shop, IMBY, is the perfect example of a clothing item that makes life less complicated. I’ve worn this shirt in so many different situations. It can be dressed up or down and no matter which way you wear it, it’s easy.
And I really need easy in my life right now.

I love a good Farmers’ Market, it is a wonderful way to spend a few hours of your day and relax. That t-shirt looks super comfortable especially as the summer heat is kicking into gear.

Love your outfit! I felt the same way last fall when we were selling our house, building our shop, and downsizing! I was so glad I had found out about capsule wardrobes and minimalism. Simplifying my life was the only thing that saved me during that time.
