Why I’m not Ashamed to be a Romantic

Why I am not Afraid to be a Romantic Why I am not Afraid to be a Romantic Why I am not Afraid to be a Romantic Why I am not Afraid to be a Romantic Why I am not Afraid to be a Romantic Why I am not Afraid to be a RomanticWhy I am not Afraid to be a Romantic Why I am not Afraid to be a Romantic Why I am not Afraid to be a Romantic Why I am not Afraid to be a Romantic Why I am not Afraid to be a Romantic Why I am not Afraid to be a Romantic Why I am not Afraid to be a RomanticI have been re-reading the book Persuasion lately and I just love it SO much. Let me show you why:

β€œI can listen no longer in silence. I must speak to you by such means as are within my reach. You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone for ever. I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own than when you almost broke it, eight years and a half ago. Dare not say that man forgets sooner than woman, that his love has an earlier death. I have loved none but you. Unjust I may have been, weak and resentful I have been, but never inconstant. You alone have brought me to Bath. For you alone, I think and plan. Have you not seen this? Can you fail to have understood my wishes? I had not waited even these ten days, could I have read your feelings, as I think you must have penetrated mine. I can hardly write. I am every instant hearing something which overpowers me. You sink your voice, but I can distinguish the tones of that voice when they would be lost on others. Too good, too excellent creature! You do us justice, indeed. You do believe that there is true attachment and constancy among men. Believe it to be most fervent, most undeviating, in F. W.

I mean… right?? The reason that I love Jane Austen is that she just knew romance. And… this is a safe place right?… I am probably the world’s biggest romantic.

I am one of those that girls that watch the Bachelor for the romance, not for the drama (I mean… maybe a little for the drama). I’m really embarrassed to have admitted that so don’t judge too hard.

Anyway, there’s really not a whole lot that I’m trying to say here other than that I am proud to admit that I am a romantic.

There is too much cynicism in this world and I very purposefully cling to my romantic (and maybe sometimes naive) views of the world.

I guess I just figure that if I don’t choose that optimistic way of viewing things then the world just may crush me.

Are there any other romantics out there??

Until next time,

I am a moderate romantic, if there is such a thing! Hahaha! My own love story gives me hope that not all romance is lost in the world, but then I open the internet and get discouraged! I sometimes think I would have been better off being alive 150 years ago, but I wonder, do we romanticize the past into being more romantic than it actually was? Then again, you don’t read the caliber of romantic writing such as Jane Austin anymore so maybe it was more romantic and it’s slowly fading away? Thoughts to ponder on a Wednesday morning….. πŸ˜‰ I love your outfit….I wish we lived in a world where feminine skirts were more the norm for attire. While I can rock the skirts and dresses in the summer, I have yet to figure out the fall and winter version without looking like I’m playing dress up. You nailed it! Have a great week!

That definitely makes sense! That’s why I said I tend to view the world in a somewhat naive way because it can be so discouraging! I think romance was so much more innocent when Jane Austin lived and that is why I find them appealing. And thank you! I don’t often wear skirts, but I do really enjoy them when I do!

I am a hopeless romantic, too πŸ™‚ There’s nothing wrong with that–romance can mean so many different things to different people. Love that quote (and I should really pick up one of her books again; it’s been AGES!). Love these photos–you both look stunning! XOXO

Gorgeous pictures! I’m a bit of a romantic too. I’ll always choose the romantic comedy or drama over an action film any day. I just love a happy ending.

Hold on to your romantic ways! I truly believe the romantics of the world are the happy people. Once you start to think romance is dead, it’s all goes down hill. I used to think I wasn’t a romantic because in college while my girl friends were watching The Bachelor, I was watching The Office with all my guy friends. But then I realized my favorite part of that series was the relationship between Jim and Pam. So I guess I’m more of a pragmatic romantic, if there is such a thing.
