Healthy Breezes and Leggings

Can I just say I LOVE this sweatshirt?!

It was one of my secondhand purchases from eBay (the brand is Free People) and I have to say that I was a little nervous about buying it without seeing it first.

It’s just such a statement piece. The color, the interesting cut… but oh.my.word it feels like a cloud.

For real though. It’s the softest clothing item I have ever owned. And we all know how much I love to be comfortable right?

Totally worth the gamble.

I could PROBABLY get away with wearing just leggings with it, but I still can’t treat them as pants no matter how much my bum is covered. I just have this weird phobia about leggings as pants… I think it can best be summed up with this Harry Potter quote:

“I bought this in a Muggle shop,” said the old wizard stubbornly [talking about a flowered nightgown]. “Muggles wear them.” “Muggle women wear them, Archie, not the men, they were these,” said the wizard, and he brandished the pinstriped trousers. “I’m not putting them on,” said old Archie in indignation. “I like a healthy breeze around my privates, thanks.”

Well I’m like Old Archie, except the opposite. I feel a little weird having a healthy breeze around my… ahem.

SO pants it is for me!

That’s why I love the J.Crew Pixie Pants that I’m wearing. They have the slimness of a legging, but they are MUCH more substantial which makes me feel nice and secure.

Alrighty then folks! I’m sure this post was more than you were asking for, but… well… there you go.

Anyone else feel me on the legging thing? Or do you agree with Old Archie?

Until next time,

I’m with you on leggings and the sweatshirt. If I were to totally try the truncation wardrobe plan, my toughest issue would be my desire for items in every color of the rainbow (almost).

I totally understand that Kathy! It’s much easier when you are drawn to a very specific color palette.

I love that sweatshirt! It looks so comfortable, and like something I would wear. I wear leggings a lot. They are my go-to comfy pants.

I’m with you on the leggings as pants. I’d rather just get skinny jeans or pants, so I feel covered enough too. Love the sweatshirt and scarf.

Love, love, love it! The color is perfect, and I love anything soft and cozy. I’m with you on the pants (and that quote is HILARIOUS and so fitting). Personally, I don’t feel great about clothes I have to keep tugging and making sure actually cover what they’re supposed to. I don’t have the Pixie pants, but I have and love the Minnies! J.Crew has the best pants.

I love the J.Crew pixie pants! I’m also really digging that scarf. I went totally overboard on getting scarves this year so I feel like I’m always on the lookout for new ones.

Love the Pixie Pant! Banana Republic has a similar style called the Sloan Pant – they’re like professional leggings. I love leggings/yoga pants, but I don’t wear them outside the house beyond a dog walk.
