Happy Fathers Day to all of the Father’s out there! Father’s Day is always pretty chill for us because David hates to be the center of attention, and hates spending money on himself so…
I have to ignore my inner Leslie Knope, and respect his wishes ha!
We spent the day doing a picnic after church, he’s currently on a long bike ride, and we’re doing tacos and pool time tonight.
I guess I can’t complain. 😉
I adore this gingham dress from Sezane. I saw on Instagram that Jessica Mau (who happens to be one of my top style icons) has been styling it lately so it’s been fun to get inspiration from her.
Today I felt like pairing it with some tennis shoes to give it that 50’s vibe. It must have worked because David made a comment about how I looked like I was wearing a vintage dress. Whenever I do reach for something that looks a bit more retro, I like pairing it with more modern accessories, like the clear bag and long barrette. It keeps it from looking like I’m playing dress up out of my Grandma’s closet (which honestly both of my Grandma’s had the greatest style so that wouldn’t be the worst thing).
I’ll leave you there for today. I hope you’ve had a great weekend! What did you all do? Oh and tell me your favorite decade for vintage dressing!
Stay tuned for tomorrow, I’ll be focusing on some new jewelry I’ve been curating lately. I’ve got some really lovely pieces to show you! And if you need to catch up on my “30 Days of Summer Style” series, you can find the rest of the posts here.
