Hi guys! If you follow me on Instagram then you’ll know that a couple of weeks ago my family and I went on a camping trip up North on the Great Lakes. David and I have been going to the same spot almost every year since we got married and it’s the most peaceful place on earth. This was the first year we took the kids though, and it was so much fun! More work ha! But so much fun to introduce them to the places that are so special to David and I.
I’ve had a lot of questions about what I was wearing while we were on our trip so I thought I’d do a little “what I wore camping edition” for you guys today. Now a little disclaimer: in the past, when David and I have gone alone I’ve packed a little differently ha! We do a lot more intense hiking when the kids aren’t involved so I pack mostly hiking gear. This time around, I knew we’d mostly just be doing some light hiking, hanging around the campsite, the lake, and the close by town so I went for more cozy and comfortable than technical. K! With that disclaimer out of the way, I’ll show you what I wore:
Day 1 – mostly travel and then hanging around the campsite
Outfit Breakdowns:
Morning travel outfit: tank (size down) | pants (TTS) | sandals (review here) | sunglasses | bag
Evening campsite outfit: tank (size down) | cardigan (OS) | shorts (TTS) | sandals (review here)
Kid clothes worth mentioning: baby boy’s shorts | floral tank top
Day 2 – hiking in the morning, window shopping and dinner out in the afternoon/evening and swimming after dinner (kids were tired after this day ha!)
Outfit Breakdowns:
Morning Hike: sweater (OS) | tank top (TTS) | shorts (TTS) | sandals (review here) | sunglasses | bag
Afternoon/Evening in town: changed into these jeans (size down) | scrunchie
After dinner swim: swimsuit (Color Sand – OS) | swim coverup shorts
Kid clothes worth mentioning: little boy’s shorts | girls’ swimsuits were from last year, but this one is still available
Day 3: Beach in the morning, hiking in the afternoon and then the drive back in the evening
Outfit Breakdowns:
Morning: sweater (OS) | Pants (TTS) | sandals (review here) | scrunchie
Afternoon: sweater (OS) | sandals (review here) | jeans (size down) | scrunchie | baby carrier
Ride Home: tank (color cotton – size up) | sandals (review here) | jeans (size down) | sunglasses | bag (colorway is old)
And that’s what I wore! We were WORN out after our trip, but in the best way possible. 🙂 It was just such a blessing to bring my kids along and see them experience the places that have embedded themselves so deeply into my heart. I was exhausted, but (forgive my cheese) my heart really was so full.
Before I leave you, I understand that a lot of the pieces I brought were more on the “investement” end of the price spectrum so I rounded up some similar pieces at more affordable price points:
Okay then! That’s all I’ve got for you guys today. I hope your week is starting off well and that you have a great week!
Until next time,
Karin
