Outfit Details:
Cardigan (S) | Tank (No longer available) | Jeans (25. Review here) | Sandals (TTS) | Hat | Sunglasses
Recently I was looking for kid’s warm weather clothing at the Gap, and I decided to hop on over to the women’s section to take a look around… it’s been such a long time since I looked there for myself! And I was so pleasantly surprised by their spring collection. There were a lot of pretty, vibrant colors and prints, but what really caught my eye were the neutral basics they have right now.
I placed an order to try some of those pieces out and so for today’s post I thought I’d share those pieces with you! I won’t be keeping everything, but I’ll let you know which ones I am and which pieces I’m sending back:
Cardigan (S)
This cotton cardigan is so beautiful. It’s so soft, and the oatmeal color is perfect. This will be a go to sweater for me this spring and summer for chilly nights or as a thrown on over a swimsuit when we do evening swims. But it will also work year round so yay! Such a good find! I got it in a small.
Sweatshirt (S) | Shorts (S)
One thing I have consistently purchased from the Gap are their loungewear pieces. I think they make some of the best sweats and they’re really affordable with the regular sales they offer! This one is no different, it’s so soft and the material feels really substantial and I do like the subtle boatneck neckline. I won’t be keeping this one however because I don’t love how short the shorts are. I like loungewear sets I can wear out and I wouldn’t wear these shorts out of the house.
Both of these pieces are really pretty. I love that the tank has the look of a sweater tank, but it’s very lightweight and doesn’t feel like a sweater tank… there’s nothing worse in hot weather than putting sweater material on your body! The shorts are perfect go with everything shorts and they are super comfy because of the pull on waistline. I think the length is perfect as well… not super short, and not so long that they look too vintage.
I’ll be sending back the tank only because I have something very similar already. The shorts I’m keeping!
Pants (XS)
LOVE these pants. Such a great staple for warmer weather, but what I love the most is that they are not a drawstring waistband. I love that these look a lot less casual than a pair of drawstring linen pants without losing any of the comfort. Definitely keeping these!
Overalls (S) | Shirt (S) | Shorts (2)
The overalls are really nice, I love the idea of a white pair of short overalls for spring and summer and I love that the length is flexible… they’re really easy to cuff. I also love the subtle distressing at the bottom of the hemline. I won’t be keeping these only because the summers here are so hot and muggy that I don’t think I’ll want to wear overalls and they’re a very seasonally specific piece of clothing.
Again, this button down is really nice. If you’re looking for a more current oversized fit this is a great one to try. The material feels really nice, and it lays nicely. It would make a great coverup as well! I went for my regular size and it’s still a very generous fit so I wouldn’t size up. I’ll be returning this one as well because I just never feel like myself when wearing a crisp white button down.
Annnd these shorts. I LOVE these. They are really similar to my Doen shorts from last summer, but the length is a bit more universal (the Doen shorts are SHORT ha!). They’re very lightweight and you’ll need nude underwear, but they’re the perfect shorts for hot weather! Definitely keeping these.
Jumpsuit (XS)
This jumpsuit is so breezy and perfect for warm weather! It would be a great swimsuit coverup, but it would also be really cute with a denim jacket over top (or that cardigan from above!) for a patio night. It’s so soft and lightweight and I like the perfect in between length. However, I’m a bit undecided about this one… if you have a strong opinion either way let me know if I should keep it or send it back.
Well that’s all I’ve got for you guys today! I hope you enjoyed this little Gap try on session.
Until next time,
Karin
