Outfits for the week of 11/2 + some Nordstrom Favorites

Hey friends! We’ll keep the chatting to a minimum today… we’re celebrating Thanksgiving a little early with David’s family this weekend and packing for three little one’s is quite the job!

On a side note, before I jump into my outfits, I want to say that it was nice to hear your feedback on Wednesday’s post It’s sparked some thinking on my end and I’ll do some more processing with you on Monday. I have some ideas, but I want to share them with you in a post of its own.

So lets get into the outfits!

Friday:

Small Maker Highlight: Sugar Candy Mountain

Top c/o (use code SCMTRUNCATION20 to receive 20% off through the month of Nov.) | Denim (I’m a size 6, and I got a 28) | Thrifted Cardigan. Similar | Shoes | Vintage Purse. SimilarMoon Necklace

This is a picture recycled from Monday’s blog postbut David and I had a date night that night so this is what I wore. I seriously love this top you guys. It’s interesting and different, but it’s still not totally out of my comfort zone.

Saturday:

Outfits for the week of 11/2 + some Nordstrom Favorites

Fleece |  T-Shirt| | Old Vest. New Version | Super Old Denim. Similar | ShoesEthical Version

This outfit is totally… meh. But it was super cold this day and I wanted to be comfy. I honestly think the thing that is completely throwing me off is that yellow t-shirt. I love the ironic print of that shirt, but after seeing this photo it has officially been completely delegated to my comfort wear category. I knew this shade of yellow wasn’t my color, but I got sucked in by the vintage vibes of the shirt. I’m glad I can still use it though! Just not as a part of my capsule wardrobe. Lesson learned!

Sunday:

Sweatshirt | Thrifted Pants. Similar | ShoesEthical Version

Again with the recycled photo. Sorry I didn’t get a better photo guys! It has been a week to be honest. I wore this exact same outfit last week and I don’t even feel bad about it. I don’t think it’s necessary to always do something different. If an outfit works and it makes you feel good… go ahead and repeat the heck out of it.

Side note: I have no idea what happened on Monday. I don’t have an outfit photo and I cannot, for the life of me, remember what I wore. I’m telling you guys, it was a week.

Tuesday:

Thrifted Cardigan. Similar | Tee | Denim |  Shoes | Purse

You may think me talking on the phone is posed. But it’s not. This was me telling David about poopageddon. If you missed that story you can find it here on Instagram and here on Facebook. It’s definitely worth a read! I was in such a hurry to get things done on Tuesday that I multi-tasked while taking this photo. πŸ™‚

Wednesday:

Tee | Old Overalls. New Style | Shoes | Thrifted Sweater. Similar | Bag

This is my winner for the week! I love this cardigan and I’m slightly sad I won’t be able to carry it into my winter capsule. It’s just too chilly with the open sleeves and though it looks chunky, it has a slightly open weave that prevents it from being super cozy. Plus it doesn’t layer under coats super well. I’m wearing it as much as I can until I absolutely can’t anymore.

Thursday:

Thrifted Sweater: Similar | Tunic | Denim |  Shoes c/o | Old Backpack. Similar  (on Sale!)| Old Scarf. Similar

These shoes may not look like anything over the top, but they actually have a really cool story! They are from a brand called Bohempia. They are cruelty free, vegan shoes made 100% from hemp (which happens to be world’s strongest and most eco friendly natural fiber… when I told David that they were made from hemp he geeked out for awhile telling me about all of the useful benefits of hemp. Ha!). Also, because they are made from hemp they are antimicrobial and hypoallergenic, which is actually a huge plus for me because I have a condition that makes me break out in hives super easily… one of the reasons I can’t wear wool! Plus they are sustainably and ethically made in Europe. They just launched their kickstarter campaign so if you’re interested, make sure to check them out! If you pledge $34 or more they’ll send you a pair of shoes. More info to be found here.

One more side note: has anyone picked up one of the new puffer coats from Everlane? I’m actually in desperate need of a warm coat (I haven’t had one for about five years now and it’s time!), and I’m curious if these are good. If you’ve picked one up, let me know what you think!

I just realized yesterday that Nordstrom is having a 40% sale on a lot of their brands, so instead of sharing my favorites from this week I thought I would share my Nordstrom favorites from the sale. These kind of sales are great for grabbing basics that you’re needing to invest in for a much lower price and Nordstrom has a really great USA Made section. I don’t think I’ll be picking anything up because I’m content with what I have right now, but I thought I would point out a few deals in case anyone else is needing anything (hello 40% off denim!).

And just a note about sales: they’re never a good idea if you’re just in the mood to shop. In fact, I would say that if you’re feeling that way stay far, far away! The best way to approach a sale is with a list of things you’re on the look out for that you’ve already predetermined you need.

Just had to throw that out there first.

<3 I love your style!! I must say you have sparked my interest… I already dress pretty plainly (color-wise). However, I love how you've stuck with your simple color tones but at least one piece is a statement! Minimally stated! πŸ™‚ You've truly inspired me!
