Oh hey there!
So far I’ve made it three days in a row with posting!
I’m patting myself on the back in case you were wondering.
I love pieces like this sweater because even though they are relatively simple, they carry an outfit so far.
The color and the open detail at the back turn a comfy as pajamas outfit into a pulled together look.
After three years of being a stay at home mom, I’m finally coming to terms with the fact that my style is just… casual right now. I like to get a bit dressed up, but it makes zero sense at the moment.
So when I can find a top that marries casual and dressed up as well as this one does, I’m a happy girl.
How do you guys add statement pieces to your wardrobes? Do you go for color, texture, or pattern?

Until next time,
So excited about the new format! I love seeing how people rewear and use their clothes. Also love seeing mom style! Thanks for sharing
Yay! Glad you’re excited Cori because I am too!
You are right on the money about accepting a casual wardrobe. I’m in the same boat – I’m either at home with my toddler smudging up my outfit with his grubby little hands and my infant puking on me or at work in a research lab where it is not uncommon to get splashed with bleach. You know I’m not going to be wearing a >$100 ethically made sweater.
But it’s still a struggle because I want to look nice and put together – a feeling that’s been really strong lately probably because I feel like I’ve lost my identity to some extent since becoming a mom.
Mom struggles!
I 100% get that Cassi! I think it’s like we’re hanging on to some of the last vestiges of our former life. 😉 At least that’s what it was for me… I’ve been able to reconcile it finally, but telling myself that this is just a PHASE and it won’t last forever. At some point, I will be able to dress a little less casually.
I love this color! I frequently wear a goldenrod hoodie. It’s just a little darker than your sweater.
My statement pieces are either bright mostly solid colors or neutrals with patterns.
I still haven’t dipped my toes in pattern too much. I’ll do stripes in a heartbeat, but other patterns intimidate me!
