March Favorites: Ethical Fashion, Cruelty Free Beauty, and Skincare

zit cream | towelettes | fleece jacket

night cream | liquid lipstick | pomade

books, Or, Or | baby sleep mist | acai powder

I had a pretty good response to my February favorites post, plus I had a ton of fun pulling it together so I thought we’d try a round two!

If this is your first time visiting Truncation, these are all products that are cruelty free and ethically produced.

I have a somewhat random roundup of things for you, so without too much rambling on my part let’s just jump in!

Alba Botanica Fast Fix for a Pimple

I’ve been getting a ton of postpartum breakouts so I’ve been loving this stuff because, not only is it an all natural product, but it has a little tint to it. I’ve been doing just this and my Pacifica BB Cream and it’s the perfect amount of natural coverage.

Avalon Organics Intense Defense Towelettes with Vitamin C

Now that I’m a busy mom of three, I love these towelettes because they are easy to reach for in the morning.  I’ve just been keeping them on my bedside table so that when I’m pumping first thing in the morning I can quickly clean my face off and be done for the day. Plus I love that they have the vitamin C treatment in them so they’re not just cleansing, but they’re actually doing something good for my skin.

Patagonia Better Sweater

I have had this sweater for years and it just never fails me.  I love that it’s sporty, but still pulled together (which is my number one clothing ideal). I’ve brought it camping, hiking, and just worn it around town and it has done the job really well. I’ve been wearing it so much lately since we’ve mostly just been lazing around the house and going on walks.
This night cream, first of all smells amazing, but also has such a lovely texture! It’s the perfect amount of hydration without being too heavy (I have combination skin). It sinks in really fast and I feel like my face looks more glowy when I wake up.  And did I mention it smells amazing?
I had heard so much about this liquid lipstick, but I was a bit hesitant to try it because these sorts of colors usually oxidize and turn orange on my lips. But to my pleasant surprise it stays true to color! I really love the formula of these as well. It is a bit drying, but it really stays put!
One of the hardest parts about switching to more natural products for me was finding good hair products that actually work. I have limp, sort of oily hair so I can’t just use whatever. I was really surprised by this stuff! The reviews online said it had the consistency of glue, but I find that you can avoid that gunkyness by using just a tiny bit. It really does a nice job of keeping my hair in place and giving me texture. I want to try more by this brand because I’m impressed!
Okay. These books. If you’ve been following along for awhile then you know I’m a big Jane Austen fan. So what’s better than getting my girls started on her books at a young age?! Nothing. Nothing is better. Kit’s favorite is Sense & Sensibility… she calls it the sister book.
This baby spray is so nice! It really does seem to relax them at night. Plus it’s all natural and it makes their room smell good. I just spritz a little on their feet when I’m changing their diaper and give them a little foot massage. It’s cute that they’re already ticklish on their feet. 😉
I’ve been really into Acai bowls lately. They’re kind of delicious and they’re so good for you. I usually do frozen strawberries, bananas, Acai Powder, plant based protein powder and unsweetened vanilla coconut milk. So good!
So that’s it! Have you tried anymore by this brand? What about the Giovanni brand? Any recommendations for their other products? Let me know in the comments below!
Until next time,

We use the same night cream! It is one of my favorites! Have you tried anything else from the 1000 roses line? I am currently using most of it, and love it! The only thing I have added to it is Rosehip Seed Oil with a couple of drops of Tea Tree, Melrose, and Frankincense essential oils.

It’s so good! I haven’t, but I’ve loved the night cream so much that I want to! I LOVE Tea Tree and Frankincense for skincare. Frankincense especially because it smells so good!
