Going with the Flow

You may have noticed in my holiday travel capsule post that I have added a cardigan to my winter capsule.

When I finished my capsule in late November, I already knew that I was completing it with an item missing:

a shorter, light gray cardigan that was still cozy, but not wool (I’m sensitive to wool so I can’t wear it).

Pretty specific right?

I just hadn’t been able to find one that I loved and I didn’t want to purchase something just to have it included when I revealed my capsule to you.

So I was still kind of poking around and I found this little number from the gap during the after Christmas sales.

It’s exactly what I was looking for AND I got it for a steal.

Happy dance!

I have to tell you something though. I almost didn’t buy it EVEN though it was perfect.

Why?

Well even though I wax on about how I have no set rules with my capsule approach, I still kind of felt like I was breaking the rules.

And I didn’t want you to judge me.

I know. It’s so silly, but it’s the truth.

But peace is my word for 2016. And one of the biggest areas where I need to find peace is in my struggle to go with the flow.

I like things to be “just so” and when things deviate I really struggle with not feeling as if I have totally failed.

So I decided to say “c’est la vie” and buy the cardigan.

And you know what? I’m really glad I made that decision because I’ve already worn it a ton.

Plus, it fits in perfectly with the rest of my capsule.

Anyone else with me? Does anyone else struggle with letting go?

Until next time,
Signature

I understand that struggle. It’s hard when you like things a certain way or you think things have to go a certain way to let go. I’m a rules girl so when I have to do something that doesn’t stick to the rules exactly I feel like it’s wrong. My word for 2016 is brave so I guess God wants me to be brave in stepping out. The sweater looks great πŸ˜‰
