Hey friends! Happy Monday. 🙂 It’s such a beautiful day outside today and I am soaking. it. in. This winter was super hard for me mentally so all of this sunshine really is… wonderful. And now that the weather is warming up and there is more light in the morning, I’ve been REALLY making the effort to get up and go for a run in the morning before the girls get up. I feel so much better when I incorporate cardio into my routine, but I HATE HIIT ha! I love the headspace that running provides as well, and I’ve been listening to nonfiction books while I run which motivates me to get up and do it! But you guys, I am SUCH a slow runner… my average pace is 13 mph so I’m making it my goal to increase my pace. I’d like to get to a 10 minute mile, but I’m going to try to just shave off 1 mph at a time.
ANYWAY. We’re talking fanny packs today friends!
I just got the new Everlane fanny pack in the mail a few weeks ago, and I wanted to do a comparison post for you guys because they are actually quite different.
So yeah! That’s what we’re doing today so let’s get to it:
Shop the Look
Version 1: The ReNew Transit Bag in Black. Also comes in taupe and an olive green color.
Cost: $35
I’ve had this bag for quite a while now, and it is great. It’s quite large for a fanny pack, but I actually really love that because it fits as much as a midsize bag. It has lots of pockets as well: one shallow pocket at the front, and a deep pocket at the back. I really like keeping my phone in the front pocket for easy access, and then I stuff that back pocket ha! The fabric is a really stiff recycled polyester, which is great because even if you stuff it, it will retain it’s shape. It’s also super comfortable to wear as the bag is very lightweight, and there is nothing that rubs on the strap. I wear this bag all of the time when I’m out with the kids because it does fit so much, and it obviously keeps my hands free.
Shop the Look
Version 2: The Woven Crossbody (gifted). Also comes in a camel color and a florescent yellow.
Price: $38
This is one of the newer bags that Everlane just released, and to be honest I mostly wanted to try it just to compare it to the transit crossbody… and they are different enough that I’ll be keeping them both. This one is quite a bit smaller than the transit style so it fits what you would think would fit in a fanny pack. It has one small pocket at the front which you can fit your phone into, and one main pocket that can fit my small wallet and my keys and that’s about it. It’s perfect for walks with my kids just to throw a few things into, and I’ve actually really loved it for runs because it’s so lightweight that you barely feel it.
To sum it up:
I’d go with the transit bag if you want a bag that can fit a lot of things in it, but it is also hands free. I’d go with the crossbody if you want something that you can throw on with just the basics and you won’t notice it’s there.
I hope this post helped! I know a lot of you were interested in knowing the difference so hopefully this answered any questions. If I left something out, let me know in the comments below!
Until next time,
Karin
