Hello my friends! So far this Holiday season I’ve shown you mostly traditional holiday outfit inspiration, but I’m also not one to stick with the obvious classics which is why I’m really into the idea of an all chocolate brown palette for a cozy holiday look this year, and I’m thrilled to be partnering with Saks today to be sharing the coziest, softest and most comfortable outfit that’s perfect for all the holiday events (including an elastic waistband for all the holiday eating… stay tuned). Saks has always been one of my favorite places to shop and it’s always the first place I go to like for inspiration once the new season styles hit because they curate the best collections every time! I feel like they always have pieces that I don’t see on other sites. Thanks Saks for sponsoring this post, and thank you, my dear readers for your continued support. I’m eternally grateful for you guys 🤍.

There’s something just a little unexpected, and yet very fitting about a rich chocolate brown this time of year… almost like burning a fireside scented candle instead of the obvious Christmas tree scented candle 😆. You know what I mean? I know you do ha! It still has the richness that a bright red, green, or gold would give, but it stands out in the most beautiful way. I’ve been a chocolate brown girly for awhile now and I love leaning into the color by creating an entire look with the color. It’s the perfect time of year to play around with a head to toe color scheme like this chocolate brown palette, and the pieces will still work for the rest of the cold weather season… something that can’t necessarily be said for an overt holiday color palette.

I find that the best way to make a monochrome color palette work is to break it up with one piece in a different color. So in this case, I’ve got the chocolate brown on top and bottom, but I’ve got the jeans to break it all up.

And speaking of jeans… these are the famous Rag & Bone sweatpants jeans. I’m going to be real honest with you guys – I ordered them fully expecting to underwhelmed. I truly thought there was no way that a pair of sweatpants could actually look like jeans. And I am SO happy to have been proved wrong. They really truly look like denim and I tested it by asking David if he noticed anything weird about my jeans (I even had him come up and and touch the leg) and he couldn’t figure it out. Even after I told him he still couldn’t believe it… he was so impressed that they move like denim even. I think the feel and movement comes down to the fact that there is a sort of texture on the top layer of the pants which gives them a very true denim feel and look, but inside they feel like the softest sweatpants ever. The one area that you can tell they are not real jeans is at the waistband where the buttons and pockets are screen printed on (they have real side pockets like sweatpants do), but as long as you’re not planning on wearing your shirt tucked tightly in (and why would you with pull on jeans?) you can’t tell at all.

I honestly feel like I’m getting away with something in this outfit… with the sweatpants jeans and this cozy cashmere sweater – it’s the softest thing and with the turtleneck it feels like a literal hug. I find this cashmere to be on the highest end of cashmere that I’ve tried with zero itchiness and a cloud like feel that you only get with really good cashmere. And I really love the subtle cable knit pattern on the front, it gives the sweater just a little extra texture and interest while still keeping it subtle enough that it’s a minimal look.

The coat too is too comfy to be aloud (kind of like Hagrid is too big to be aloud… I’m a nerd I know). It feels like I’m wearing a big teddy bear blanket and because of the generous fit it’s not restricting at all which means it’s just pure softness without an ounce of discomfort or feeling like my sweater arms are perpetually having the life squeezed out of them (IYKYK). It’s really roomy throughout like I said, but it doesn’t feel too stiff or like it’s getting in the way around my head. Sometimes I feel like I’m trading roominess for too much fabric in the neck area, but I don’t feel that way with this coat, which I’m very pleased about because I love having a warm coat I can wear besides my puffer coats or my traditional wool coats.

Finally, these brown booties are a great pair of everyday boots that can be dressed up! I love how deep and rich the chocolate brown color is and I love that the heel is on the shorter end (gotta have a little heel at least ha!). They’re really comfortable too, but I do want to give you fair warning that they don’t have a zipper so you’ll want to keep that in mind. I had no problem at all getting into them as the ankle is quite stretchy, but my foot is on the long and skinny side. Also, you’ll want to go up a full size as they do run small.

Well there you have it! What do you think of an all chocolate brown color palette for the holidays? Or just an all chocolate brown color palette in general? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time,

Karin
