A Quick Break

You may have noticed that I’ve been a bit absent lately.

This past month has been one of the craziest of my life, and it’s looking like August is going to be even crazier.

I mean, it’s definitely a good kind of crazy because (pending successful closings) we sold our house and bought a house!

This has been a long time coming. I completely understand that there are many people that have a much longer house “process” than we did so I’m definitely not complaining, but…

over 120 showings and three offers, plus looking at close to 50 houses and putting offers on four…

I’m tired.

I realized that during this season of moving, I need to take a break from Truncation.

The thing is, the exhaustion of moving has drained me so much that I don’t enjoy this space right now. I dread it… and that’s not a good thing.

Rather than pushing through and writing just to do it, I’m going to take a month or two off and then come back when I’m feeling refreshed and the house stuff is behind us.

I need it, and my family needs it.

One thing that I do still enjoy about this space is you guys so I’ll still try to stay as active on Instagram as possible so we can stay in touch and so I can continue to share with you my year of no shopping.

Now I need to get to packing.

Until next time,

I’ve been thinking of you! While I do miss the interaction with you, I can only relate to how important it is to focus on getting through a busy time, especially with a little one. Your house ordeal sounds so stressful. Best of luck for your move, and I have my fingers crossed for you that this time all closings actually happen! x Kate

Good luck with the move! Enjoy the break- it’s so important for our health to acknowledge them & take them when needed!

TOTALLY understand! I’m slowly coming back from being absent on my space, so take your time. This process is ridiculously taxing, regardless of how long it takes. Take your time and we will all be here when you get back!! ☺️

Staying sane is definitely the most important thing – we’ve been through the house selling/buying process and it is absolutely grueling so I totally understand your decision. Plus, a running a blog is a ton of work! I can’t wait to read more Truncation though. I check back every week or so to see lol. Happy nesting!
