So I’ve come full circle on these shoes you guys.
I had mentioned earlier that I wasn’t sure if I was going to keep them because they hurt my feet so bad.
A few of you encouraged me to hang on to them and try to break them in… and I listened! Yay!
They did eventually break in, and now they are really comfortable.
I think that’s a good lesson in a slow wardrobe actually.
Sometimes having a slow wardrobe means slowing down our decision making process about the clothing we already own.
I think sometimes in the capsule wardrobe world there is this big push to purge, and while I absolutely think that there is a place for purging, sometimes the excitement of “starting new” causes us to get rid of things too quickly.
I’m a big fan of the keep things hidden for a year trick:
Put things you’re unsure about in storage for a year, and if you haven’t thought about it then get rid of it.
It definitely slows down the process…
but I kind of think that’s a good thing.
