Welcome to this month’s Everlane edit! I’m clearly on an gingham kick with Everlane because last month’s edit featured another gingham statement piece as well. I have always been a fan of gingham for spring and summer… it’s just one of those nostalgic patterns that instantly reminds me of picnics, warm weather, and lazy days in the sun. I also had a gingham dress I wore when I was pregnant with Gabe so it always brings back nostalgia from that sweet time of carrying my last baby.
I eyed this particular gingham maxi dress from Everlane for a couple of months because I couldn’t decide if I liked this classic gingham color or if I wanted to mix things up with the lavender gingham color. Ultimately I decided to go with the classic black and white… and I’m glad I did. This color is just timeless and the style of this particular dress is also not overly trendy so I think this color has a longer lifespan in my closet (although the lavender IS really fun).
I mentioned in last months edit that the fabric on the gingham trench coat was really impervious to wrinkles, and this dress is the same! I don’t know what Everlane is doing with their fabric lately, but it seems like it really is wrinkle proof (this dress is 100% cotton) which is great for mom life. I really love the fit of this dress as well. It’s easy, breezy and the length is perfect. I really dislike when maxi dresses are too long, but I also don’t always want a shorter midi dress. I also love the tiny cap sleeve, and the buttons down the front. I sized down in this dress (XS) and I’d recommend doing the same because it does run a bit big.

I also tried out this sweet green gingham blouse this month. I love the bright, cheerful color, the crop top, and the puff sleeves. It’s the perfect little top for spring and summer. I love it with jeans like I’m wearing here, but I also think it would look really cute with a high waisted skirt or a pair of white shorts or pants. This one runs more true to size so I wouldn’t size down.
Well that’s all I’ve got for you guys today! I hope you enjoyed this April Everlane edit. And in case you missed it, I reviewed two of their newest denim styles in my Everlane Denim guide this past week! Have a great weekend everyone!
Until next time,
Karin
