Hello and happy Wednesday my dear friends. I am feeling a bit tired and a bit refreshed today, which I know is a bit of an oxymoron, BUT hear me out…
David and I had the chance to sneak away this past weekend. We left the kids with grandparents and took a trip over to good old Omaha, Nebraska (full disclosure, I just had a major ADHD moment where I forgot which state the city of Nebraska was in, had to Google it, only to remember Nebraska is the state and Omaha is the city 😂… hoo boy!).
We were there for a marriage conference and also to just have fun sleeping in and exploring a new city. A much needed break as it’s been so long since our last night away from the kids together that I can’t even remember the last time. So yes refreshed!
But also exhausted because anytime my schedule gets interrupted I turn into a puddle of mush. 😆 Well worth it though! It’s SO hard to connect when you have four high needs children (I’m sure a lot of my mamas reading this can empathize), and it’s funny because sometimes I miss him even though we’re both living in the same house and doing life together every day. Having that distraction free time with my guy was so, so valuable.
I always try to pack as light as possible when I travel and I usually do that by packing mix and match pieces that will all go together. You can see that in the above outfits, although to be honest I could have totally gotten away with only one of the button down sweaters.
Using a mix and match strategy, especially when each piece is within the same color palette, makes it so easy to pack and it also allows me to lean into my impulsive nature. Whenever I pack by choosing an outfit for each day, I always end up feeling restless and dissatisfied with what I packed, but mix and match allows me to still make decisions in the moment.
Well that’s all I’ve got for you guys today! On Friday I’ll be taking a walk down memory lane and walking you through my style “journey” so make sure to check back for that! Love you all dearly.
Until next time,
Karin
