Today’s post is on summer cashmere, but first things, we need to a little organizational rejig on my 30 Days of Summer Style series. I’m realizing that I can’t keep up with posting on the weekends. It’s just not feasible if I want to be present with my family (taking my own advice) so I’ll continue the series, but I’ll just post Monday through Friday.

K. Now that I have that out of the way let’s talk about summer cashmere.
Cashmere is something that I’ve always written off as being “not for me”. I am VERY sensitive to wool, and can’t wear something that has even 5% wool content. It’s unbearably itchy on my skin, and I get a rash from it.
I’ve tried cashmere in the past (from J.Crew and various thrifted items) with a slightly less version of that reaction so I just completely stopped trying to wear wool and cashmere a few years ago.
Until a month ago when Golightly Cashmere reached out and asked if I was open to a collaboration. At first I was a bit hesitant, but when I read about their brand I realized that I wanted to share them with you regardless of my own sensitivity to cashmere.
I’ll get into why I love the ethos of the brand in a minute, but I have to tell you that when I got the cashmere scarf in the mail and put it on… it is seriously (I’m not over exaggerating) the softest thing I have ever put on my body, and I have had ZERO sensitivity to it. In the past when I’ve worn a wool scarf I have gotten a red rashy ring around my neck, but none of that happened with this scarf. It’s not scratchy or irritating at all.
That leaves me realizing that maybe (MAYBE) quality/price actually matters when it comes to wool/cashmere. I’m still a bit nervous about wool, but I’m feeling a bit converted to cashmere.

I can say confidently that this will probably be the only scarf I wear this winter, and I’ve already been using it as a way to add extra warmth on cooler summer nights making it the perfect summer cashmere piece. The scarf I’m wearing is “the Wrap” style and it’s in the color Stone (they have 36 colors to choose from!).
