Breton stripes are one of my favorite things to wear… which I’m sure surprises no one. 🙂 There’s something so classic about breton stripes, but they always look current and fresh. They are truly one of those wardrobe pieces that you can’t go wrong with. I’ve always traditionally stuck with black and white versions of the breton stripe, or maybe even a navy and white, but this spring I’ve been playing around with colorful versions and it’s been a great way to infuse a bit of fun into my wardrobe while still keeping things classic and timeless.
This blue striped Mariniere from Sezane is about as classic as you can get with the slight boatneck neckline and the button detail at the shoulder. It’s made of a heavier weight, substantial feeling cotton and it lays just perfectly. It’s one of those tops with ideal versatility because it looks just as good untucked as it does tucked, and it doesn’t wrinkle easily so you can switch between the two without having to constantly steam it. I got my true size and it has just the slightest hint of an oversized fit while still being a very classic shape.
